This is not a negative comment, so don't castigate me. The words that cost him his re election were........"read my lips, no new taxes".....and then he turned right around and made a deal with the Democrats and we got a tax increase.

People remembered. Everything else was forgotten. 41 tried to explain that it was not a "new tax".

In my opinion that was a turning point in American Politics, the beginning of what we have now. That being, you simply do not trust the other side, because their only aim is to get you unelected.

Remrmber how comedians used to portray 41 as an a effeminate character. America laughed. How cute. Aren't we cool.

My God, the man was a true hero, a fighter pilot.

The public was too stupid to even care.

RIP GHWB. You were not a great President, but you were a decent President.

He had decency and compassion as a human being. Remember " kinder & gentler"? Because of stuff like that he was accused of being to wimpy and effeminate. ( That's politics, just like the Willie Horton was politics. And the now new taxes were, new taxes. That's called governing and problem solving

Today we say good bye to President George H.W. Bush. A class act who knew better than to criticize his successors. His son, George W. Bush, learned this lesson well from his Father. Too bad the other past Presidents did not. Unlike the Bushes, their legacies are destined for the trash heap of failed Presidencies of the past. So, Jimmy, Bill, and Barack, before it's too late, take a lesson and STFU! Before you make yourselves more forgettable than you already are. Nobody really gives a shit about what you have to say. President Trump is a better man and President than all of you combined. His legacy is already sealed among the greatest who ever held the office. Just like George H.W. Bush. RIP.

Funny that George HW thought that Trump is low class trash and wouldn't have anything to do with him yet he liked Carter, Bill & Barak. Hummm? They will all be at the funeral. Donald J Putin wont. So maybe Donald J should STFU and go play golf with his Russian friends. When someone doesn't want you at their funeral, that's equivalent to pissing on your grave in advance. George H W Bush had no love or respect for Donald Trump. Nor did any of the others in the Bush family. I am happy that the Bush family extended the invitation to the Trumps to attend the funeral. Class act considering.
