Not sure where that came from, but THAT was NOT a photographer. Photographers create by posing and lighting, which this dude did neither of... Nevermind, I just don't know what to say.... ;-0

Ginger I have a nice camera, I'm not a photographer but it was a about $2,500 and I have a few nice lenses that we use to take photo of furniture for our site. I could bring them over a take a bunch of pics and then we could have an hour session and I will pay for the session and charge you a nice cuddle or hug session after for all the photos. If that is too much to ask a hand shake would be good and with my hand not some other part.

Isn't this business for the girls to make money on and for the guys to spend money on the girls and give them gifts for the gift they are giving to us.

When did it turn to a business where men leach off women. Guys like this piss me off. Arnt' the men lucky to have these women in there lives. The men should have a job or business of there own and if you have your own business you should be offering your service to the girls for free or at a discount especially if your getting sessions too. I understand if you provide a legitimate service that is valuable to them so getting payment for that service make sense but targeting them is offensive. In other industries thats illegal even in a lot less respectable than this one.

I go back on my offer of not helping any provider with pics because of the response I got with this forum. From here on out I will help all of them who ask and out of respect for respectable photographer that sign there work I will decline. But if the provider has a reasonable reason why she is in the right I will disregard 100% of your BS rules and take 100% of the responsibility and openly allow you to sue, complain or what ever else you need to do to protect what you think is right.

Note to all respectable photographers: If your doing your job as an artist then there would never be a time when your work would come into question. Good art, creative designs, and running your business professionally with your normal cliental and providers will alway raise your work above the low quality work and bad business practices that gives your profession a bad name with the girls who get screwed over by losers.

Treat people good, run a good business, provide a great service to your clients, help people when you can, never back down to bullies, and most importantly never make any decision based on fear or intimidation.

But if you web optimize the pic and bring down the res a little you can still have a larger pic that is doesn't slow down the site.

Also this is the pic i found on a girls post and it made me feel like some people might need a little help with there pics

So I sent here this

To me 2-3 minutes of work can make a photo look a lot beter. Also very few providers have professional pics. I would say 80% of the pics I have seen over the last 5 years are phone pics. So what is the big deal.

On my site www.ldfbeds.com I have over 20,000 pics and whiting out factory pics makes the product look a lot better.

I can put up a pic for a dining room like this

Or spend a little time a put up one like this

So that is where I'm coming from. I completely understand someone wanting to protect there work but what I was offering at the time has absolutely nothing to do with that.
This is what I intended this thread to be about. Where did I go wrong????

ask to have the thread closed down and let sleeping dogs lie.

I can see how the artists would get upset if you took a provider's picture that they took of them and altered it and claimed it as your own genuine work or even just altered all the hardwork they put into it.

But i don't think you're intentions are as nefarious or worthy or ridicule as others might think.

I'm young so I come at this from a different perspective as well where people my age take pictures from comic books, video games, movies and make signatures and backgrounds for their online gamer friends. Its not really to steal or make profit, they do it more as a grassroots digital "shrine" or tribute to that really badass video game character making them rockstar-esque.

I'm sure I pissed someone off here and I'll get a vicious rebuttal.

DEUCES!!!

Agreed, thank you end of story. and by the way why would I claim anything as my own work, I'm not trying to profit from girls, trying to help the ones who would like help.

That's it. Closing this stupid thread is a good Idea I have to get back to work. Anyone good at database. I need to make a data base for my weekly stat sheet and considering using filemaker because my excel sheet can't handle all the the formulas. Its crapping out after I get over a couple hundred thousand formulas in the form and excel can't seem to handle it. Dont know how good filemaker will work at that capacity and how it handles formulas. Too much work leads to more down time need with some providers.

If you meant me when you made that statement regarding a vicious rebuttal Savak... no worries. You won't be seeing any of that from me anymore. I do... however enjoy my flair and spin on my photos and find it to be a fun and creative way to express myself... as well as consider it a personal hobby. No harm intended. have a great weekend

Default Please excuse my above post - I was not finished and submitted on accident

It seems to me he is just another hobbyist with a nice camera and uses it to try to get free BCD activities and then expects more BCD activities for the pictures he "edits" . He obviously has no respect for Copy Right Infringement laws and to me that means he probably does not care about how the provider wants her pictures to be perceived. Our pictures are how we market ourselves and any picture taken by a non professional will never compare to ones taken by a pro who has references and websites you can check out yourself. I understand you take pictures for your furniture website but that is completely different than a providers showcase photos.

I have used the same photographer for almost a year. He lets me pick the background ( of course with his help for lighting ect.) and he never not even once asked or even acted like he expected BCD activities in return just his cash payment. That to me is the difference between a pro and a hobbyist with a camera.

I will always recommend DDBD for one of Houston's best photographers and editors.

If he has no respect for copyright laws of professionals I'm sure he will not have any respect for the providers wishes or even how she wants to be represented in photos to her clients. Like the situation above ^^^^
You know she wouldn't have these situations if she kept it professional, not BCD, pay for the photoshoot straight up, that will eliminate that, I mean she really didn't have to do anything, that was her choice, keep everything above board. and you won't have that happening.

Kimmie does need to get a understanding of the laws, but I don't think he was referring to ladies with professional pictures, the ones that would need him are the ones who take the camera phone pictures, with all the clutter in the room. that would benefit them at no cost.
Let's take about those pro images
Not all pictures taken by the photographer belongs to him, if it's not stated in the photoshoot agreement the rights of the images belong to the person in the images, remember the photographer is being paid for the photoshoot, he is not paying the person to model and she is not getting any consideration for her time and image, there is no modeling agreement, signed by both parties that shows the photographer is the owner and the model signed her rights away. he can't just use them anyway he wants or force her to use them in a particular way without being brought to task himself.

Thank you SweetCakes and I have had a blast working with you for the last year and you know you have to stick around for one or two more shoots

I agree with both SweetCakes and dreamvacationdates - keep the shoot professional, remove the bcd activities, pay for your shoot and you eliminate a ton of headaches.

That is not correct , the copyright always belongs to the person who TOOK the photo. That person can sell the rights or sign over the rights but unless that is done the only thing the person in the photo is legally entitled to is what the specific photo release includes . The only way the photos in the images BELONG to the person IN the image is if the photographer sells or gives them exclusive rights , other than that it is illegal to do anything other than use them for for own private personal use .
This is a subject i deal with on a daily basis , digital copyright laws were written to protect the photographer or artist from theft of thier work . the law is always on the side of the photographer on this one .
