I think you have the Republicans and Democrats mixed up. Democrats are all for people who aren't even citizens of this country to vote, that undermines the Democracy. Essentially when a person is incarcerated they have lost their Constitutional Rights. You pay your debt to society for your crimes by forfeiting your rights including your right to vote. Thats what being incarcerated is all about.

I say, NO....
Incarcerated felons shouldn't vote

In most states, felons cannot vote while they are in prison but can regain their voting rights after they are released (as in Massachusetts and Hawaii), after they complete their parole (as in Colorado and Connecticut), or when they are no longer on parole or probation (as in New Jersey and Texas).Apr 21, 2018

you lose. Prison gerrymandering is a nothing-burger.

there are 235 MILLION people of voting age.

there are 2.2 MILLION prisoners of all races in local/state/federal prisons.

that's less than 1% sport, including whites. the numbers for only blacks and hispanics it's less than 1 million. that's less than half of 1 percent.

So ... tell me again why this is such a unfair disadvantage to Democrats????

Or better still ... why it's such an advantage to Republicans?

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...risonracegaps/

"Later analysis by the University of California, Santa Barbara's American Presidency Project found that there were 235,248,000 people of voting age in the United States in the 2012 election"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_...tial_elections

"2,298,300 people Corrections (which includes prisons, jails, probation, and parole) cost around $74 billion in 2007 according to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics. At the end of 2016, the Prison Policy Initiative estimated that in the United States, about 2,298,300 people were incarcerated out of a population of 324.2 million."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...rceration_rate

So! how much advantage to whom is ..

less than one half of one percent?

thank you valued trump hater!

---> but it is in fact the norm across most of Europe. In a report released by People’s Policy Project on Tuesday, Emmett Sanders explains that “26 European nations at least partially protect their incarcerated citizens’ right to vote, while 18 countries grant prisoners the vote regardless of the offense”. Indeed, the European Court of Human Rights has even declared that blanket bans on prisoner voting rights constitute a human rights violation.

Of course, it is not just Europe that allows prisoners to vote. Although 48 US states and the District of Columbia currently restrict the voting rights of incarcerated people, Maine and Vermont do not

Stick to the topic, it's about political motives for felons voting.... Politicians wants votes regardless of what country.
BAHAHAHA

Politicians Care evidently
Winning by 2 votes is a WIN

One of the motivations for voting is that one vote can make a difference. In a presidential election, the probability that your vote is decisive is equal to the probability that your state is necessary for an electoral college win, times the probability the vote in your state is tied in that event.

Thanks Valued person
