What do you guys tip for straight-up legit massage?

What do you guys tip these days for straight-up legit massage?

In the recent Yoyo/Hi-Thai thread it was mentioned that the place asked to add $20 tip on a standard 60 minute massage. Is this what most of the places are expecting?

I usually tip $30 for a well done standard massage with no extras. I'll add $10 or $20 with the addition of extras or if the standard service was exceptional. $20 seems a bit on the low side for what a provider would expect unless they are used to dealing with cheapskates ALL the time.

Personally, if I'm reluctant to pay an additional $10 or $20 for great service then maybe I need a different hobby. I'm not looking for a debate on tipping in general, but in what you DO tip for walk-in no-extras satisfactory massage.

I have a membership with massage envy and i tip $20 for a legit deep tissue massage. With my membership price of $48 with any of the fancy $10 add ons, so $58, i'm leaving about 35% gratuity.

It depends on how "comfortable" she gets before she returns as to whether or not to take the "calculated risk" of enticing contributions. There may be other contributing factors that might encourage additional gratuity.

Frankly, I'm trying to remember when I last made an appointment for only a "straight up legit massage"!

To me, it's all about the circumstances- e.g. depends on the vibes I'm getting and what is my realistic expectations on any given visit. Yes, I have been a cheapskate before: I went to a known R&T bought the 1/2 hour and after 25 minutes of rubbing with teasing- she said "DUHN" and when I asked for flip? she said 1/2 hour doesn't cover front side. Then went and waited with water for tip at front door. Protested when I left nothing- but I mentioned that I was not informed 1/2 hour was not "full body"

Other times, I go in with an expectation of legit and that's what it is, but if I feel good about it I go for the 20. If I got mixed signals like there was more and then was shut down and the rub wasn't good, I will tip less than standard(usually like 10) to voice my displeasure of being teased to blue balls and left dangling

Another circumstance: couple weeks ago I visited a Northside AMP what I considered was a legit place.
Stopped in there 1 other time over a year ago and got nothing. Tried again, and on the flip the average looking thicker Chinese gal with my guidance started the HJ. I was going for NE, but only seemed to be OTC. When I left I felt guilty that I had only planned on the 20, so I made it 25..the 1/2 hour was only 35 anyways. A steal for what I thought was a legit place with no play.

Legit places. 20, or 25. Only for really good massages. But 5 for shitty massage. Because she obviously does more. Ya know what I mean?

20 is about average for an hour, but it is up to you. if it was a really great massage or i know that the management is not paying them a fair amount, i'll tip more. it's really up to you.



there are a lot of jackasses out there that tip nothing because they didn't get a hand job. they still can;t figure out that not everyplace is a jack shack. i wonder how they would feel if their boss said no pay for you because you didn't get under my desk and blow me?
