Planning Summer Tour - Mountain Range Vacation

Hi guys,

I am planning to do a little... okay, maybe a LOT of touring this summer and was looking at North Carolina as a fun place to visit. I am not opposed to visiting South Carolina. I plan on traveling through the Blue Ridge Mountain Range and Skyline Drive and doing some camping in between hobby life.

Basically, what I am looking for is if these are good places to visit, if there is any interest from the wonderful men there in seeing me and what are good, safe places to stay in each location.
