You are correct that the next admin continues the policies of the previous, What choice did Obama have when he took office in 2009,pull out of Iraq and afghanistan immediately? probably wouldn't have been prudent. There are those of us that aren't completely happy with Obama, but compared to bush and reagan, he's a HUGE improvement.
I don't believe the $4 trillion increase in defense spending since 2000 is inconsequential, rather it's a huge drag on the economy. When do you think the defense department will get their accounting system they've been working on since 2004 and is $8 billion over budget up and running? Where's the republican outrage?

What do you consider welfare and how much does the government spend on it? STILL waiting for those rising tides to lift all boats. It's a shame most of the rest of the country doesn't get to see how, in a lot of ways, Canada is better than The US. A ghetto in Canada is a slightly below average neighborhood in the US. I would have no problem walking around anywhere in Niagara falls, Ont anytime of the night. I'm not sure I'd venture too far for the Tourist areas of NF,NY in the middle of the day! Even Hamilton, Ont, bigger than Buffalo, is far safer.
