I cannot see that the policies of the present administration have helped the situation, and I would like a change.

Well the fallacy there is thinking that Congress can actually do anything to improve the economy -- other than get rid of crap like that POS.

The government doesnt create wealth -- it just redistributes it and takes a heavy toll in doing so.

Lets hear it for gridlock!

When the party one favors can't control ALL the roads...absolutely! My studies of the Constitution & the Federalist Papers has lead me to conclude that this is ABSOLUTELY what the Founding Politicians had in mind.

All of which has led me to my oft-voiced opinion...a pox on BOTH party's houses. We create institutions that are STACKED in favor of nothing getting done...then we bitch about nothing being done.

In my not so humble opinion, all who do so are cordially invited to go fuck themselves!

Now wait a minute. In 15 some years posting on the net, have you EVER heard me bitch about the government NOT doing something?

Ever!

Obviously, this doesn't include stopping doing something stupid that they are already doing.

Sorry, PJ, got side-tracked. My bad!

I - and I can only speak for me - have never believed it was government's function to CREATE wealth. It can't...at least not very efficiently. All it can do is participate in creating an environment where wealth creation is more likely to occur.

OTOH, government DOES have a role to play in redistributing wealth where appropriate. Sorry, I don't think "redistribute" is a dirty word per sea. If government had a hand - albeit an indirect one - in creating the environment in which the wealth was created, it does get some say in where it ultimately resides. To my way of thinking...it is the "where & when" that's appropriate is what all the fussing & fighting is about! One of the more effective definitions of politics I've seen is, "...the art of deciding who gets what, when & how."

IF - and that's a mighty BIG if - that's true...good on you for at least being intellectually consistent!! Pity you're being asked to carry water for those that are not.
