Default Are There Any Limits to Illegal Immigration?

https://amgreatness.com/2019/04/14/a...l-immigration/

what are the theoretical limits on illegal immigration?

When would it cease? When 50 million or 60 million or maybe 80 million foreign nationals entered illegally, without meritocratic criteria or much diversity?

Mass population movements end (or never start) if there is border symmetry, in the fashion that Canadian and American immigrants roughly balance each other out.

But rather the current issue is whether regions of America, especially the American Southwest become roughly indistinguishable from Latin America and Mexico, and therefore in terms of economic opportunity, safety, and quality of life do not offer that much of an improvement—or at least not such a radical margin of enhancement to justify abandoning one’s homeland.

No one knows what the saturation point might be of illegal and unassimilated immigration, but influxes are now approximating each month a mid-sized American city.

Officials apparently assume that visiting these places can become a lose-lose-lose situation: the miscreant will not comply with citations, the bureaucratic costs of enforcement are not offset by collectable fines, and the touchy subject of illegal immigration may earn either unfavorable press coverage or censure from politically sensitive county and local officials.

For successfully assimilated Hispanics there is a growing resentment that they are being used to support political agendas that are not conducive to improving the quality of life in their own backyards.

In sum, either when Mexico resembles California, Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico, or when these border states resemble Mexico, then illegal immigration will likely cease.

The only limits to illegal immigration is when a citizen runs outta Ammo.

I've always thought that since the highest exodus of immigrants are coming from Mexico and Central America that there should be something set up on our Borders similar to Ellis Island. Immigrants could enter the United states safely and immediately start the immigration process. They would be given a criminal Background check a physical exam ect. and start the process of acquiring citizenship. For immigrants who just wanted work visas that could be established also. Of course America would need the cooperation of the Mexican Government.

We need only rich, young, healthy, educated immigrants.

We cannot afford anyone else - too much debt and too many homeless and disabled and retired people in our country.

If we do that they might vote Republican, can't have that, lol. Besides who's going to pick produce and hang sheet rock in the cheap track houses builders are throwing up left and right in this country. Certainly not a rich educated immigrant.

Since you won't be able to complete a "criminal Background check," just don't let them into this country.

Mexico used to throw their asses in prison if they weren't out of the country in 3 days .. and they stamped the entry date on the "papers" when they crossed into Mexico from the South.

Mexico has historically pretended to "cooperate" with the U.S., so long as they get compensated for the cooperation. One of the more horrific recordings I've heard was the torturing of a U.S. DEA agent in a small town outside of Guadalajara where he was kidnapped in front of the DEA digs there ... they wired him to the ceiling by his spine and worked him over for about 3 days... it was the Mexican local police, their military, and Federal police with a doctor present to keep him alive. They recorded the whole fucking nightmare ... trying to find out who the snitches were in the surrounding .... business.

well I've heard some of the nightmares too. If total cooperation between Mexico and America can't be obtained then we'll always have immigration issues on the border. Very little improvement Border Wall or not.

The way to eliminate immigration across the southern border is about 2,000 19 yr old US Marines.

not enough.

we already have something like 2000 soldiers (national guardsman) assisting border patrol in a number of places.

BP has something like 20,000+ officers patrolling the southern border.

obviously, its not enough. need something like 30,000 soldiers stationed there temporarilty to make it work.

Lets hope it never comes to that. Lets face it though, violence does solve some problems.

Hearing and seeing it are two entirely different experiences.

On a more relevant note: Read up the Mexican "national hero" Finance Minister who orchestrated the funding of toll road construction with the World Bank ... insisting the contracts be in Pesos ... after completion defaulted the loan contracts and devalued the Peso to reduce the indebtedness ..... PRIMARILY BACKED BY U.S. DOLLARS!!!!!

Then read up on how the "U.S." housewives support the Mexican sugar industry ... compare a bag of sugar (the quantity won't be precisely the same) in U.S. to one in Mexico ...

Mexican businessmen and their government partners have laughed at the U.S. and it's "benevolent" wimps for DECADES.

Try SNEAKING into Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we could try to put together a reciprocal type policy. You treat our people this way and we treat your people the same. Problem is that we don't have enough real shit hole prisons to lock up Mexican citizens until they comply. They also don't really seem to care about their people so much...maybe a celebrity...maybe a soccer star from Mexico that we could hold while an investigation is being held. Those things could take months or years even if they eventually find insufficient evidence to charge. Maybe the close relative of a cartel boss...? Of course, we need to get absolutely brutal to anyone who offers any violence on the border whether it is a threat or a rock. As for the rest of Central America, those 20,000 marines could make short work with the proper air and naval support. Create one super country (such that it be) under new government and we get to confront all those thousands of Chinese "workers" in Panama. Of course that would give a sanctuary to the millions of Venezuelans who voted for a communist dictatorship.
