Default Pronunciation of "ECCIE"
Ok, I have tried looking backward to see if this has been asked before, but haven't found it. In conversations with several ladies this year, I have noticed that there are several ways to pronounce the name of this site. A lot of the time there is a pause right before the attempt. Maybe the "big dogs" here can provide some enlightenment.

ECCIE is pronounced:

EXXIE
EKKIE
IKKIE
ESSIE
EASY
EACY
???

No one seems to want to say the letters. E-C-C-I-E

That's very interesting. I took a cue from the Italians, and always pronounced it "echee"... in Italy, the letters "cc" followed by an "i" or an "e" produce the English "ch" sound.

The pronunciation rhyming with "Becky" is a cute homage to the lovely board owner. (One of them, at least.)
