Default Which USA cellular service works well at the “La Boutique” Motel?

Was wondering what you fellow mongers at the motel they usually stay at. My Verizon WAS bad but has significantly improved.

Or do you feel that using a Mexican pre-paid phone works better? And if so, which Mexican cellular service?

I suspect once they realize its a USA phone number, they “adjust” their prices..haha.

Thanks in advance.

I'm on T-Mobile and they give you free roaming in Mexico. I always get good signal and speeds throughout Juárez, motels included. I wouldn't bother with a Mexican number since I haven't experienced any price gouging from any working girl, but when I lived there I had Telcel and remember it being good.

I have Verizon and haven’t had any issues in the last few years. Usually takes a minute or two for the phone to adjust once I cross the border but that’s about all the trouble I have now.

Supply and demand guys. Demand is high. There are a lot of people who can afford the quality service there. Not gonna complain. If business was bad they would be cleaning houses. Just get an international plan. I use ATT/Telcel

I used to be on T-mobile and it could barely get data at Motel Bugambilias

I have Spectrum mobile now and it seems better

I have tried asking some of the girls/attendants if they know the motel's wifi password but no one seems to know it.

I have Verizon prepaid and get decent service in Mexico. It does get spotty at times. I also bought an old iPhone SE (1st Gen) off eBay for $70 and a Telcel chip/SIM card for $12 from a guy with a shop in Mexicali. So I have a Mexicali number even though I have never been there, but I hear that it's nice. It's about $15 for 30 days of service and 8 MB of data through Mobile Recharge. More that enough for Whatsapp, Uber, Google maps, and Mileroticos. I've had it for over two years and it hasn't let me down yet. Verizon has let me down in Mexico a few times and my "burner phone" has saved the day.

The biggest cellular companies in Mexico are Telcel, AT&T México, and Movistar. In that order. You can get a SIM card (they call it a "chip") at the company store, mall kiosks, or even Oxxo or Del Rio, so I've heard and put money on your account at the same time. This will work on any unlocked phone. I started with a $40 Samsung S4, but it had 3-6 hour battery life and died after a year and a half. I bought my chip off eBay because when I go shopping in Mexico, I don't like wasting my time on mundane things.
