Default Europe may require Americans to get a visa.

The days of Americans traveling visa-free to Europe may be coming to an end. This is mostly in part because of our restrictions on citizens from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Poland and Romania.

Thinking about going to Europe?

So, we used to have to get them. Got some old passports somewhere that still have pages full of them.

As the article says, nonbinding and tit for tat.

They need us more than we need them.

With our military in Poland now, they will start to really love the millions of dollars we will be pumping into their economy and will not want to upset that gravy train.

I have no desire to visit there. With all the unrest in Germany, France and other places I will spend my travel money here in the U.S. LOTS of places to go and things to see here. Why go where the people and governments hate/disrespect you????

Seems a small inconvenience that I will happily comply with. One of my dream trips is Eastern Europe with a walk into Germany as if I were part of the allied troops. A little like, Lee Miller, the WWII female war correspondent did during the liberation. I would love to end up in Vienna for Christmas.

Serious travelers don't care.

Prague is on my list, as is Budapest, Bucharest and Warsaw. I have cousins in Germany but have yet to make it there.

I was able to finally see Cuba last year. Not Europe, of course but man-o-man what a trip that was. We took 6 dozen baseballs and gave them away to the kids we saw playing in the streets-- best part of the trip. We also got to see The Rolling Stones in Havana for free. It was the first ever rock & roll concert in the history of the island. What a treat. Many Cubans had never heard a single song they did but multigenerational families came out including the family dog. They didn't understand the concept of an encore and thought the concert was over, they were completely surprised when they came back out and sang two more songs. Fab-U-lous!

Love to roam the world.
