Default A good 1st Ammendment debate

https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/us/2017/06/28/mississippi-man-takes-confederate-flag-fight-to-high-court.amp.html

If it was a Swastika would anyone argue? If not, then what's the difference?

If your 1st does nothing to impede any of mine... Then okay by me. There is no flag, t-shirt, song, public speech, or opinion that offends me, shortens my life, infringes upon or lessens any of the 27 Amendments that have been ratified as additions to the Constitution.

However, there is a troublesome habit humans have of making people rich and famous for what seems to be empty vapid narcissistic self promotion. Rap music, Justin Bebe, and the like don't infringes my rights, but I'd be okay if a building fell on certain people. I'm done now.

Big difference. The swastika was NEVER an American symbol. The Confederate Flag as you are aware...was. I emphasize the WAS.

I don't think ( my opinion) Any American symbols should be removed good or bad> If we forget history ,we will repeat the same mistakes over again. ( just see the book 1984 )

Strange, i've seen plenty of instances of people with swasticas and no one suing them to force them to stop using it..

It's only illegal in Germany, not here.

I don't have a problem with the Confederate flag.

Here's a better question - should ISIS and al queda be free to pump their propaganda all over our social media to recruit terrorists and incite lone wolf attacks in the US?

I used to be a First Amendment absolutist until those cockroaches ruined it.

The "Swastika" is an ancient Native American symbol.

"Ancient Native American pottery with swastika design (also known as fylfot or gammadion)."

Quote:
For the first 15 years of its existence, members of the 45th Infantry Division proudly wore on their left shoulders an ancient American Indian symbol of good luck, most commonly referred to as the swastika. The insignia served as recognition of the great number of Native Americans proudly serving in the 45th Infantry Division. The yellow swastika on a square background of red symbolized the Spanish Heritage of the 4 Southwestern states that made up the membership of the 45th—Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona.

The Confederate flag wasn't an USA symbol, it was an CSA symbol. Since they both end in A, you're technically correct. But I'll never consider the Confederacy part of America.

Then you'd better study and learn your history. Mr. Lincoln never considered that was anything other than a part of the United States.

But the CSA didn't. And for 4 years there was a war to decide that. As always, the winners make the rules, but for those 4 years, the confederate flag didn't fly over the USA. When the USA took our land back, they took down the flag... for a while.
