My electrician didn't show up today..

I've got home depot coming on Tuesday the 13th to deliver and install my new appliances.. But I need an outlet wired into the wall for my above the stove microwave. The wall is easily accessible from the other side, as it is unfinished at the moment..

I just need the one outlet added and can't find anyone to do it. If you know anyone please let me know..

I really don't want to reschedule with home depot as I've ordered these appliances almost a month ago, I've already paid for installation and also I'm really hoping to move in by Dec 1st..

Call Home Depot, Mendards, Lowe's--they usually have some business cards or contractor info they can share.

Or try Angie's List. You'll find reviewed contractors on there.

If there is a cabinet above the hood, where the micro will go, that is where the outlet will be installed. Not having the outlet shouldn't delay the appliance install. How far is the circuit breaker box?

Now technically I think I could have it installed but.. My kitchen walls are already done and painted.. The wall on the other side of where the outlet needs to go is my bathroom. That side of the wall has sheetrock up but hasn't been mudded or taped yet. It would be easy to cut a whole amd patch it up later.. But it keeps me from finishing my bathroom until the outlet is installed..

My breaker box is in the basement. Directly below the kitchen.

Well code requires appliances to have their own circuit. The counter circuits would normally work for a counter top one. Since the breaker box is below and close, all you need to do is drill through the plate and the cabinet wall. Drop a chain to the plate and fish the chain down to the basement. A coat hanger straightened with a small hook will do the job. Don't leave a large amount of chain on the plate. It makes it harder to pull. Attache the 14-2 wire and pull into the kitchen. Leave at least 6 inches coming out of the 2x4 box. Then run the wire to the breaker box. A 15 amp breaker, 14-2w ground wire, 2x4 box, staples, 3/8 romex connectorr, receptacle and cover is all you need. If you do it this way, no need to patch the sheet rock.

Most codes would require a GFCI outlet in kitchens and bathrooms. If the wall is not taped or mudded then a whole piece of rock may be able to be taken down for access also.

GFCI not required for appliances. They would constantly be tripping.

I did find someone and had the outlet installed yesterday! There's still a ton of work to do around here but it's a work in progress!
