I've been spending some time at the Barrel lately, and today spent some early evening hours at the Sundowner. Here's my take: As far as raw talent there is no contest....the Barrel wins hands down. BUT...it was Thursday which means not "prime time"...BUT it was Halloween so was hoping for better than a typical Thursday. Out of the 15 or so 'Downer dancers only 2 were in a league with (in no particular order) Ciera, Rose, Regan, Ivy and one or two others I don't know the names of. Obviously there are no pasties in the Falls and you do get to see the goodie box when they're on stage. As far as private dances go, I spent 20 for one song at the Downer and although touching was allowed, I did not get a closer look at the kitty. Maybe if I had sprung for a couple of more songs? Their reputation has taken a hit....rumor is they hang around for a bit more than one song and then "surprise, surprise" they tell you that you owe them more. I told Pixie (and she was OUTstanding !!)up front that it was a firm one song only, I paid close attention and practically threw her off my lap when the songs changed. By the way...the DJ kinda blends songs to facilitate this. My bottom line is this.....if you are in need of touching during a private dance, need to see the nipples, MAYBE seeing the kitty then make the trip. If you are an admirer of the female form with some coverage, lately our local talent can't be beat!

Just cause the girls are better sales women at the Downer don't hate them for it. If as a customer you don't know that it is 20 per song that isn't her problem or job to remind you after each song. God I love the guys that get soaked for 3 extra songs because they think the girl is sitting there talking to you for your personality and then get upset when they get the bill!

1) I have been to the Downer 100's of times at various times throughout the day. The Monday lunch crew still blows away the girls at the barrel on Friday and Saturday nights.

2) Looks only you are correct apples to oranges. Not even close. That is the reason I haven't step foot in a strip club in Rochester for 20 years.

I've been to both, many times. I suppose the term "raw talent" is open to wide interpretation. But the Barrel usually sucks...and not in a good way.

The 'Downer can suck too. Even when the "eye candy" is good. Too much pressure and the clock is always running. I hate the constant parade of gals interrupting your beers and stares with their inane chatter, trying to get you to go for a private dance. And the rumors of "extras" and "take out" are hugely exaggerated. Not that it doesn't happen. But nowhere near as often as some cucks like to say it does. And it is a big part of the reason guys get "soaked." The number one way gals there get you to keep them on the clock is by implying yer gonna get something....cool...to happen. And it ain't likely. At all. Yeah...it happens. But mostly it is just a sales technique. Right behind the old "let me give you my private number" pile of horseshit...

Don't get me wrong. I like the 'Downer at times. And even get a few dances now and then. Some of the gals are amazingly hot. So much so that it is worth giving them a Jackson or three to have them nekkid while they are that close to you. But I never spend more than an hour and $60 there. Not that I didn't spend a lot more of both in the past.....
