I never said it was appropriate for him to weigh in. He was speaking at a rally. His remarks were impromptu as always. Frankly, there are lots of people who feel the NFL and its owners never put their convictions (if they have any) ahead of their money. So the idea that an NFL owner would gain instant respect if he told his players either stand up for the anthem or you're fired is probably true. When will the NFL start showing some fucking backbone? That's where Trump was coming from.
And speaking of inappropriate comments, did you complain when odumbo rushed to judgment and weighed in on every high-profile black shooting (Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, et al.) with inappropriate public remarks? Was odumbo being a bully when he publicly warned the Supreme Court not to find the ACA unconstitutional? Did you scream "why the fuck would he even comment?" A Constitutional law professor is expected to know better than to put the POTUS' clumsy thumb on the scales of justice. That was far worse than Trump talking about the NFL.
