I say, how times have changed. When I was there last the exchange rate was 1 Pound Sterling to 2.50 US Dollars. The stupid thing was the Brits were converting from Old Pence (250 pennies to the Pound) to New Pence (100 pennies to the Pound) thus eliminating the shilling from being in the mix entirely. And for once, the tourists knew more about the Brit currency than the locals did. But the exchange rate was the same. 250 US pennies = 100 British New Pennies. The New Brit coins were different from the Old Brit coins.
