Default Venmo? Too risky?
Has anyone used Venmo? I’ve come across a few providers that want a small deposit if you are new. I don’t like leaving a paper trail and have never used this app. Can you stay anonymous and add funds? Or is it something with a transaction from your bank that a suspicious spouse might come across?

I have sceen in several providers profile asking for a desposit. I do not know a whole lot about Venmo and have never investigated the application.

With limited knowledge I have I am not willing to create a paper trail.

The hobby always has a high percentage of flakes and if I give her a $40 payment upfront what is the chance I will get my $4o back if she no shows?

I currently have plenty of regulars who are more than willing to see me with out a deposit, so why would I start sending a newbie desposit.

If you have a solid board presence and a couple of reviews that usually is enough for most providers to see you.

Terrible idea. First, as above having all RW contact info is terrible. Keeps all her clients info on phone, is busted... bad.

Second, with the number that flake, money up front? LOL. Usually it's bad enough with having to take time off and/or making schedule adjustments a flake is bad enough as our time isn't free.

Venmo is a paypal company and not SW friendly or anonymous. I'd suggest you use something else if you are worried about it. Perhaps an online giftcard like with Amazon that is much more vague, or some are mailing MO, etc.

Deposits have heavily infiltrated the scene, especially for anything even slightly unusual in requests for sessions.

venmo will block your account (and his).
Vanilla visa gift cards are best (you can prepaid utility bills, cell phone, pay whatever bills you want).
Better to have months on prepaid utilities than risking an acct closed and being banned.
