ANother lie told by liberals... but I mean what else do liberals do? They have to lie to the American people because if people understood them for who they are they'd be strung up from the nearest lamp post like Mussolini.

In 1960, Democrats held every Senate seat south of the Mason-Dixon line. In the House, in the 13 states that made up the Confederacy, Democrats held a 117-8 advantage. Those 117 House members constituted 41% of Democrats' 283-153 advantage in the Chamber.

The 1964 Civil Rights act was supported by 80% of House Republicans, compared to 61% of Democrats. In the Senate 82% of Republicans supported it, compared with 69% of Democrats.

Of the 21 Democrats in the Senate opposed the Civil Rights Act, only one of them, "Dixiecrat" Strom Thurmond, ever became a Republican. The rest, including Al Gore, Sr. and Robert Byrd--a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan--remained Democrats until the day they died.

Of those 20 lifelong Democrats retired, their Senate seats remained in Democrat hands for several decades afterwards. So too did the overwhelming majority of the House seats in the South until 1994, when a Republican wave election swept the GOP into control of the House for the first time since 1952.

1994 was also the first time Republicans ever held a majority of House seats in the South--a full 30 years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

So it's not that the Democrats and Republicans switched... the Republicans just gained power in the South.

Covid would have happened regardless, so look at the numbers ignoring covid closures. I've had to send a dozen clients to bankruptcy cause of that. It's always the small businessman that gets stuck with the bill for social programs.

Remember, most get wiser as they get older.
I can only go by what polls are indicating. If I'm wrong come election day, I will admit it. I doubt you will.

Why Senior Citizens Are Flipping on Trump

Last time, it worked. In 2016, exit polls showed that 52 percent of voters ages 65 and older supported Trump. This year, polling suggests they’ve lurched heavily against him. A CNN poll this week showed Trump winning over just 39 percent of the same age group, compared to 60 percent who support Joe Biden — the latest in a series of polls showing seniors breaking in favor of Joe Biden.

What happened? Part of the reason is the coronavirus pandemic, a disruption that has left seniors uniquely vulnerable, and isolated and without any clear plan to bring them back safely into society.

Polls: Biden leads Trump among seniors by double digits

Former Vice President Joe Biden has gained a more than 20 point lead over President Trump among voters ages 65 and older, two separate polls — one from CNN and one from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal — found.

Why it matters: Senior citizens are America's most reliable voters — and a group that's been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Biden's gains with seniors just weeks before Election Day could give him an edge in voter turnout.

When ever I see crap like you just reposted dilbert it relies on your and others ignorance of nuanced history.

.
Strom Thurman the overt segregationist who had a child with a black woman left the dixiecrat party for the republican party. That professor that dilbert quoted from did not have anything to say about him.

You're right the republican party of today is not the republican party of Abe Lincoln.

Hillary got 88% of the black vote. There is no reason to believe that Biden won't get any less than that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
By damn, I'll do that, stake my ECCIE life on it. In 2016 according to Pew Research, Trump won 6% of the black vote.

Here's the bet, if you or anyone else is man enough to take it. I bet that when the Pew report for the 2020 election comes out, it will show Trump winning at least 6.01% of the black vote. You bet he'll get 6.00 % or less. If you win, then I'll stop posting, for 3 hours, from 1:00 AM on March 4, 2021 until 4:00 AM on the same day. If I win you stop posting for 3 hours. Is it a deal? Or are you chicken?
