Many fond memories of the legend in person from my youth - both in Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. And although I was never a Yankees fan, or, for that matter, many of his teams, I always admired Yogi as a classic catcher, slugger and just a fine all around fellow.

Call him an icon, role model, team player, for sure.

RIP

Yogi also fought on D-Day.

He was on a rocket boat that capsized.

Default What a legend! R.I.P.

"If the fans don't wanna come to the ball park, no one can stop 'em!"

"This is like deja vu all over again!"

"The future just ain't what it used to be!"

Regarding a certain restaurant:

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded!"

"I never said most of the things I said"

Growing up in the '50's, even people who never played an inning of 'Ball knew two names. Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantel.
