Depends on your definition of "lame."

I'm not a huge Batman fan, but he did have the best superpower you can have (just like in real life)... money.

Batman was an ubermensch, a superior man with superior skills and extreme dedication to justice as he saw it. You don't see that much anymore.

Aquaman was kind of like Obama (yes, I did it). He was the king of the seas but spent all of his time doing other stuff and the occassional golf game. Never did much king stuff. The name is lame too. Couldn't they do Namor, The Submariner?

Since we're talking about DC Comics what about Green Arrow? All he had was a bunch of trick arrows and pretty good skill. Then it turns out that he was light in the loafers the whole time. I can imagine how WTF felt when he heard that Elton John as gay and all of those love songs were about guys. I'm sure that WTF was devastated. Whatzup, not so much...

In a death battle between the two, if the location was under water, Auraman. But in the city, Batman. Batman is fucking kill ass. Sure he didn't have superpower, but look at all the motherfuckers he hung around. Superman was this mans BEST FRIEND! He was kicked out of the Justice League because he had made ways to take out the other Justice League members. He is a human, rich and uses his abilities for good, and actually has a real soft spot for kids. The only real disappointing thing Batman did in my book was not let Spiderman, Peter Paker, join in on the Justice League.

You can say that of most superheroes - that they had something special and something happened to them to dedicate their lives to vigilante justice. Batman is the poster boy for privileged kids having a shitload of money fall into their lap and doing something with it. He's also wildly insane as well (can you say mommy & daddy issues - yeesh!). I mean really, his response to having a traumatic event happen to him is to run off to Japan and become a ninja?!?

Green Arrow also had the best superpower (money). GA wasn't actually gay - he's had a very well known long term relationship with Black Canary. GA is one of the more openly liberal superheroes though.

Hah there are many Robins and Aqualad/girls. Most of the sidekicks actually grow up to be interesting characters in their own right though, imo.
