BP will fight because they are specifically named in the bill. Congress asked for a fight and BP has legal minds lined up behind them already from having to shit down the adult section last year.
SA is still up, but at least one other SD site is down.
But yes P411 may be one of the few places that survives besides here. At least until the dust has settled and more is known about the very broad language in the bill.
Watch for more subreddits to close soon and Craigslist specifically names the bill for good reason. The Congress-critter TM behind the shut down of CL's Adult section is the same one that started the crusade against BP in the House. Craigslist has been attacked before calling out the bill is one of the few ways they can fight back.
The more "normal" things that get taken down the more of the NIMBY crowd will start whining about not being able to post a personal ad for a missed connection or something more innocuous than a casual encounters ad.
The effects are already making a lot of us feel the chill.
Big Brother is in action and the John President is the authoritarian "leader" at the helm.
I'm going to go back to listening to applicable classic punk albums from the likes of Minor Threat, Operation Ivy, Anti-Flag, Propagandhi, Choking Victim, Leftover Crack, MDC (it'll probably break a rule to name the band), Against All Authority, Dead Kennedys, Avail, The Clash, Crass, Social Distortion, Rancid, Green Day, The Vandals, Bad Religion, and many others.
And a few hardcore records from more prescient bands like Sick of it All, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Earth Crisis, Path of Resistance, Bad Brains, boysetsfire, Strike Anywhere, and many others.
And metal bands like Megadeth, Body Count, Darkest Hour, Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Rage Against the Machine, Stormtroopers of Death, and many others.
A few true hip hop artists like Atmosphere, Common, Nas, Ozomatli, Ice-T, Ice Cube, NWA, Jurassic 5, Outkast, Public Enemy, Weerd Science, Tupac, and many others.
And some albums from my favorite British socialist Billy Bragg, Bob Marley since this is more of a random section, Matisyahu, Skatalites, Thursday, and many others.
Comedians that speak their mind like Chris Rock, Denis Leary, and many others.
And even a little outlaw country like Hank Williams III.
And for fun the soundtrack to the musical Avenue Q.
