Paul Manafort served as Trump's campaign manager for less than 3 months. He was fired the day after Ukraine accused him of accepting millions of dollars in "off-the-books" payments from the ousted Ukrainian government of Viktor Vanukovich. From what I've read, those allegations were never substantiated and are suspected to be a product of collusion between the Clinton campaign and Ukrainian agents working to interfere in the US election by smearing Trump.

Maybe you can tell us the true facts, muy loco, since you claim to be such a knowledgeable insider who has been "deeply engaged in politics for many decades".
