Thank you and your son for your service and sacrifices.

My ex-wife's psychiatrist told her that if she knew how many people were on anti-depressants and other legal psychotropic drugs she would be scared to drive the streets of Houston like he was.

There are no words to express the gratitude. You can argue about the politics, but you can't argue about those on the frontline, at least the 99% who aren't arsehole haters.

I don't know whether i am lucky or unlucky not to have needed to prove myself in battle.

As for the music:

- I am a great bob dylan fan, but almost nothing on the internet, Blood on the tracks was my background to visits to gf in jail. Plus others. It touches my soul.
- I am a great rolling stones fan
- I am a Prince fan, took a gf to a show in Toyota centre in about 2004, amazing
- a great pink floyd fan

but I my life is centred around the classics

- schubert has changed my life, I started hobbying because of quartet in G major. I insist it is played at my funeral. The most lifegiving work ever.
- Scriabin is weird but necessary. I try to play it.
- Back, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Rachmanoniv etc. are my daily companions

Some examples (just trying to expand the experiences....)

Ideal for daty. I made a comment about that on the site.

Hungarian quartet. My CD is by Italian quartet, I am grateful this post has made me find the hungarian quartet. Both are indescribable. But not good for daty.

Uh, should that be Bach and Rachmaninoff? Just checkin'. But I do think Alexander Scriabin is too often overlooked. He was a genius.

yes, it is Bach, Rachmaninov has many spellings!

Scriabin was a genius, no doubt, but it is technically hard and even more hard on the psyche.

I play most of the sonatas, started with no 10, but have struggled for a long time with no 8, I performed it once. The earlier ones are more accessible - no 5 is heaven bound eroticism, no 4 is a last movement stamina exercise, no 2 enchants.

But it's all good for strengthening the wrist for when your baby need 45 mins of vigorous wanking.

Lust Thrills, but Love Kills: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=UUwakwHrVEo
