so, GWB & Obama did half measures on containment & rollback in Mid-east.

there is some truth to that. they both did one or the other, but not both tactics. And deployed those solutions in countries (in this case, the mid-east) that did not really trust USA to begin with.

not everything has a military solution, there has to be a civilian solution has to be added to the mix of solutions. I noticed that this position wasn't widely supported by both administration. sure they did some things, but not enough to make a difference.

I'm not sure what the article says is the solution considering the religion of Islam is at the forefront of the problem.

this article also makes claim that African muslims are more tolerant than mid-east muslims. I'm not sure about this claim.

pretty much disagree with its claim about south-east asians being tolerant.

The problem is with the ROEs which governs how & when & what troops may do or may do on the battle field.

reduce the scope of the ROEs to that of what existed in WWII & Korean war, the wars would be alot shorter than this war which lasted like 16 years of Bush & Obama administration.

"Leaving them alone" will not work anymore. They'll always kill each other. Now it is too easy to hop on a boat or plane and kill Europeans or Americans on their homeland without retribution.

IMO the answer is the "moderate Muslim" which can be abundantly found with unicorns and rainbow gold pots.
