The media seems to think one story is worthy of national news while the other is not.
What some posters are saying is that 1 story will be reported multiple times per day for weeks while others are barely reported, if at all. In this case, the event would seem to support the idea that an armed law abiding citizen is not necessarily a bad thing. The media is dominated by liberals who may not want people thinking this is the norm. Instead, they focus on a mass shooting or a police officer shooting an armed criminal.
These are the events liberals want you to see. The message is guns are evil or police officers kill people unnecessarily.
The human brain is a funny thing. If you show people a video of a single event one time, they will see it as an isolated incident. If you show a single event multiple times, they will believe it is a common occurrence.
