There's a difference between having a safety net in place and being pimped. Calling a friend before and after a date is fine. That can be done without the guy even knowing about it. Pimped gals on the other hand. Lets just say many of them don't have a problem answering calls or texts right in the middle of a bj. When that happens it's probably a pimp on the other end.

Another way is that they might keep a weapon concealed on them in a place they only know about. However, pimping can be manifested in many forms and can also be of any gender. The question is keeping her safe throughout the course of the date and to ensure that everything goes on without incident.
