I have no excuse and it is an unfortunate indiscretion I have committed. I was unable to modify my post after I realized my mistake, due to the new(er) one hour limitation of the board software. I did attempt a modification, however, as I have been absent from the board since early May, I was prevented from doing so, as the edit window has changed from four hours to one. In point of fact, I noticed my mistake and I put off (inappropriately) making the change as I attended to other matters - it was pointed out to me by an email (from a party with a vested interest) that I had overstepped the rule of the Hole, their email arriving exactly one hour and five minutes after I made the post in question - the timing of the arrival of that email being of course, of no coincidence, IMHO.
I have at several other times in the past used my status as a member of the Hole (which I have never kept secret on the board) while referencing things that have happened or been discussed in the Hole, subjects that have come up, in a very general sense (painting only very broad strokes in my referencing) on the open board without revealing specific details of the conversations that have occurred within, and done so without prior sanction. I have done that to drive membership in the Hole and not been sanctioned. In many ways, similar to as I did here, however, I realized, as I said, quite some time ago (Tuesday night) that this post in question references a specific exchange and although it does not reveal specifically what either party said, it does reveal more than is prudent.
Given the current climate in this forum regarding such type of indiscretion and my being outspoken regarding a separate matter, I find my actions here absolutely inexcusable.
I humbly beg the pardon of the party I offended and of the members of the Hole whom I have also disappointed by my action. I obviously had the best of intentions.
However,
none of that is any excuse, and I await and will accept the decision.
I have no doubt that this matter will be looked upon with glee by a specific subsection of our community.
I am aware that Bax and/or St. C may sanction me for this breach, as the rule is stated to "put it out there at your own risk" regarding information leaving the Hole. I did so inappropriately and possibly at my own peril. I have never been pointed once in my tenure here at ECCIE and I have every faith and judgement in Bax and St. C's discernment for taking an appropriate action.
