What I think is criminal is the way some of these indirect "victims" (like the guy who couldn't rent his timeshares, as an example) are holding up deep pockets for their "$20 -40,000"

At some point we need to realize shit happens and take our lumps.

The next time some guy wrecks this car on the interstate and backs up traffic for a couple of hours should the couple thousand people late for work band together and file suit for the opportunity cost of their time?

Obviously there is a good deal of sarcasm in the above...but when the dust settles the number of people that made bank on these settlements will be legendary.

I've seen those guys ('unbiased experts') in action - at $400 - $800 an hour. They'll say anything the guy signing the checks needs said. What they mostly sell is credibility, not unbiased scientific assessments. Great work if you can get it.
