Default Thank You For Your Service

Just watched the video...

I am confused as to how I feel about it.

I jumped out of my seat a couple of times, did a lot of deep breathing.

Feeling a little bit proud of the brethren, a lot of pissed off at situations.

If you haven't served - watch it.

If you have served - I can understand if you don't.

Out.

This post made me decide to give it a chance. I will check it out, not sure if I can make it through the whole thing. I find most war movies, especially post and return home ones uncomfortable at best, but hey, give it a shot. I liked "The War at Home". Estevez's first directoral debut, but it was hard to watch. PTSD is a MF, and the ones of us that deal with it, usually deal alone.

10 years in March since I’ve been out. I walked out of the film. Really hit home...

I just finished it, powerful stuff. I am glad that my entry into the VA system was completed years ago. They have actually been really good to me. I liked how the film touched on the comradery and loyalty that brothers in service have. Also the alarming suicide rate of vets coming home now. I have had a few brothers go that way, and I won't lie, I went down a dark path myself for a while. I have looked into volunteering- would you believe that the wounded warrior program is full up on volunteers? Good for them, and all of us!

PTSD is a mother bitch, and those of us who deal with it know it lurks in the shadows always. This film hit home hard.
