Yep! I was quite the Lib back then. I was in my first peace march and sit in...in 1968...at the ripe old age of 14.

Luckily I grew out of that.

Here is a thought:

Might be fun to put on a leisure suit, with a paisley tie, have Lauren dressed as a harjuku girl ( http://eccie.net/showpost.php?p=932946&postcount=11 ) and going out on the town.

Full disclosure: I was a lib at the time, too. As a first-year graduate student at UT Austin in '72, I was a big McGovern supporter. And I've admitted in this forum that I voted for Jimmy in '76 (although I actually considered him too conservative at the time -- but a better choice than Ford).

Took me a while to wise up!

Nostalgia. I lived in Detroit in ’68: after the riots. Buildings were blackened and ruined by fire. Neighborhood “vendors” would pop open their car trunks and display “their merchandise.” Sorry, but I wasn’t impressed with the capitalist spirit of the new left.

Dwight Schrute (The Ofiice) is their fashion icon. Hockey people are hopelessly lost.

I know a couple of Hockey guys in the media & the sad thing is they really thing they are good dressers

No way! They were "back" in the 90s and then went right back to not being back. I don't think they're back to being back again, are they? I see skinny jeans everywhere I go.

Even though I was so young I was just learning to cursive write during the aforementioned era, I knew the fashion was awful! The only thing I was even happier that faded into the sunset was jeans and trouser rises that were along the same plane as my bra line. Oh, God they were horrible. Bellbottoms were ugly, polyester was just plain ole gross, but high-rise jeans just make butts look HUGE.

Jeans in general have come along way in the last decade or so. Women would wear them baggy in a way that certainly didn't flatter their ass. Watch a movie from the 90's if you don't remember
