I agree 100%. Whatever problems Fancy may or may not have, they are far more socially acceptable than those of her attacker and she remains civil. Diminished mental capacity reveals itself in many ways. In Fancy's assailant's case, it manifests itself in the inability to be nice to almost anyone. There also appears to be a vocabulary deficit evidenced by the extensive overuse of the "-tard" suffix.
