DPST's are too blind with rage and hatred to even attempt to understand teh tax code.

Go Ask Cyrus Vance of the SDNY - if there is anything verifiable and chargeable as tax fraud - i guarantee nazi pelosi will have it shortly!

Foolish , rage and hate filled DPST's.

This is a funny quote from the article

Quote:
behind the self-made-billionaire image — honed through his star turn on “The Apprentice” — that helped propel him to the White House and that still undergirds the loyalty of many in his base
That's a weird thing to say. That show was created after H I S billionaire image was well known, and I don't know anyone who voted for H I M because of that stupid show wtf lol.

NYCrimes loves to print fake news - when called out - they just ignore and go on to their next lies.

So sad - what has become a leftist hack rag - was once a respected purveyor of facts, Truth , and journalism.

My guess is that the President’s supporters (and 99.99% of those who don’t) use whatever strategy they can to minimize their tax load. I certainly do, at quite a considerable expense.

poor mole - that response indicates the DPST's are actually questioning their fake news - and devolving to the usual name-calling, fake news, and scatology as the usual response.
Any more 'flashes' from the burrows-Mole.

In 2016, Trump paid $129,250 more to Stormy Daniels than to the USA government.

Fine - that may be true -

and - if so - why does that indicate 'Tax Fraud' - you are all salivating over - when net losses lead the income line on a tax return????
You are desperate to attribute criminal behavior to Trump - who doubtless has had expert tax attorneys do his returns, and the 'News flash" is illegally obtained from an 'anonymous source' by the Nycrimes leftist rag.

goes to show the depths of depravity of the DPST acolytes - and the nonsense they will believe and cling to because of their Trump hate and TDS!

I'm not sure about either of those.

The article says the Trump Corporation deducted the $2.3 million cost of criminal defense lawyers for Donald Trump Jr related to his meeting with Russians. (Aside: This is fucking ridiculous, the American justice system out of control. There are a lot of innocent people sitting in jail because the convicted knew they'd be bankrupted if they went to trial. The Trumps had the money to fight this.)

Also Trump or his company deducted 2.2 million in property taxes for a family residence that was probably incorrectly classed as an investment property. (It's not a deductible expense if it's a family residence.) He appears to have inflated the values of two properties to generate 119.3 million in tax deductions for conservation easements. He deducted payments to his hair stylist and Ivanka's hair stylist, to a photographer who was taking photos at a New Years Eve party, for table linens, for fuel for his plane when potentially used on personal trips, and other similar items.

Also he paid millions in consulting fees, and a good chunk of that went to family members. The consulting payments to his kids may have been a way to evade estate taxes. There's a question as to whether some of these consulting fees, in places like Azerbaijan and Turkey, may have been bribes. The NYT really was just speculating about estate tax evasion and bribes -- they didn't have any evidence.

In 2009, he gave up partnership interests in the Atlantic City casinos, claiming them to be valueless, even though he was issued 5% of the stock in a new company which took over ownership of partnerships in the casinos. Abandoning the partnership interest freed up $700 million in business losses for Trump. Trump used part of these losses to offset prior years' income, and filed for a $72.9 million tax refund, which he received.

The problem, he should have given up ALL ownership in the abandoned property (the property owned by the partnerships) to be able to use the business losses. He didn't do that because he got the stock. He's being audited on this, and the IRS wants the $72.9 million back plus interest.

I suspect the $700 million in losses didn't actually come out of Trump's pocket, but rather out the pockets of the bondholders and banks that were backing the casinos. That's what happened in the early 1990's, when Trump generated another $900 million in losses that he legally was able to use to offset taxes in future years. The difference was that he complied with tax laws then, but he probably didn't in 2009 because he retained the 5% interest in the company that ended up with the casinos.

So we can either make assumptions about "facts not yet in evidence" and conclude what some of us think we already know, that Trump is a slimeball OR we can wait for the indictment ( or not ) and concentrate on policy initiatives by both candidates which will/ should dictate how we vote.

I'm not prepared to turn our government over to BLM and Marxists even if Trump broke tax laws. Sorry.

I also tend to believe that the Biden family has broken these same laws which also have not been proven but might very well be if Trump wins another 4 years and Bill Barr goes digging into Biden family dealings. We already know that Biden has lied on numerous occassions about not knowing what his son was up to. There is evidence of that in the public record. Does anybody on the Left care? Apparently not so that's where we are at, back to considering policy and policy only and I'm not about to turn this government over to King James ( LeBron ) and Queen Beyonce ( Queen Bee as she is known by her millions of followers ) and Marxist Sanders and AOC and America haters Taliab and Omar.

Yeah, I don't really hold the tax evasion or avoidance or whatever you want to call it against him. But it's symptomatic of how he's treated his customers, his investors, his vendors, his banks and his bondholders. And the way he plays fast and lose with the truth.

What could be worse? Well maybe a candidate who would raise my taxes. And who would take the means away from many of my friends to provide for their families -- friends who work in the oil and gas industry.

I won't be voting for either.

It would be great to have a Republican Senate, and then see Biden migrate to the right and become like Clinton during his second term, when he and the Republicans accomplished so much. It's probably not going to play out that way though. More likely Democrats will have a clean sweep, Biden will migrate to the the left, and they'll fuck things up again like they did in the first two years of the Clinton and Obama presidencies.

This is the latest example of why a progressive tax system doesn't work...because those in power and/or have wealth will always write loopholes into the tax code, so their effective tax rate is much less than the average American. I don't fault Trump for trying to take advantage of all of them. Hell, Bernie Sanders has a less effective tax rate than most Americans because of those same loopholes.

I think we need to move away from a solely income-based tax system and transition to something more balanced on income and consumption. Herman Cain, for as much ridicule as he got for his "pizza deal" 9-9-9 tax plan, it was a hell of a lot more transparent than what we have right now.
