hopefully this will force american companies to leave China.

Perhaps you could explain the wisdom of 25% tariffs on all imports from China, along with 25% tariffs on steel and 10% on aluminum. Hopefully Trump is using the 25% tariffs as a negotiating tool and they'll fall by the wayside soon. If not he's nuts. He'd be breaking apart supply chains and throwing away industrial capacity. And for what? So the American consumer can pay more for goods? So companies can abandon factories in China and build new ones in places like Vietnam, where armies of women will do numbing assembly work that Americans don't want? I don't get it.

I have a claw hammer I bought at a building supply chain (not WalMart) ... and couldn't figure out why the head was somewhat rounded and when striking a nail it went off at an angle somewhat bending the nail into a useless angle that required pulling and replacing ... then I noticed the hammer was "Made in China"!

I opted for a more expensive "Made in USA" hammer with a flat head.

I call it my "SocialistLiberalAntiTrump hammer" OR

..."SLAT hammer" for short.

I still have the Chinese Hammer and use it for banging on things that don't need to have a professional appearance ...

... or just need to be broken, like thin rocks.

In the long run it's more cost-effective to buy quality merchandise that lasts longer, and buying products manufactured in the USA creates jobs for more people.

Besides before anyone gets all hysterical and whiny the "tarrifs" Trump imposed won't kick in for awhile ... and if any retailers raise their prices within the next few months they are "hedging" and "gouging" to take profits from sales on goods not assessed the new tariffs. See if they also raise their hourly pay rate.
