Default Personal Protection

My little brain got to thinking this past week about personal safety. With the shooting and unfortunate death of a provider, I was just wondering if you ladies carry personal protection? Yes, the safe call works at the beginning and end of the date but what about during the date? Do you ladies feel the need to carry a gun, taser, knife, or just know a self defense move to get you outta the position your in? I assume if you do carry that it's easy to get to and not across the room.

I am packing....plain and simple. If you see me at a hotel, I do the safe call and have a tazer, but at my incalls I do bring the gun from my car.

self defense courses are def needed even if you have protection with you . tasers , guns can be more dangerous if they get it away form you so it is good to know how to get it away from them .

Very true. I gave my first one to my cousin because I would never use it in Nola...that would get me killed here.

Lots of men who fit the typical hobbyist body btype.....if tased can have first time heart trouble from getting tased. If a guy was tased and died of heart trouble in your incall how could you explain that.

Also LE can bypass screening at times. Why turn a potentially small crime into a felony.

Id put my emphasis on the self defense......but it won't do any good if you get knocked out. None of us are ufc fighters....and one good punch seems to do the trick.

All very true, but I really don't care. If he is going to rob you it makes no difference what surrounded it. With any robbery you have every right to shoot to kill....period. You also don't have to tell the cops crap about how or why he came to be there. You heard a knock at the door, thought it was maitenance, and the guy barged in and tried to rob you. They are not just going to assume with no evidence that you're an escort lol.

If you don't show your face in your ads, I doubt they make the connection. Besides, if anyone were to really do this to that extent I am quite sure they would have enough sense to ditch the puter and the cell phone...and trash his as well so the number did not show up.

Ed is the perfect personal protection.

I've never had much of an affinity for dogs, so I'd weigh that aspect of any potential date.

I am a widely experienced martial artist, and have also worked extensively with combatives in hand-to-hand situations as a mercenary.

Though this service isn't available to providers outside of New England; I have long made available training in combatives which use gross motor skills and work under fight or flight stress. I make this training available to providers at no cost and always following a paid appointment. The only condition I impose is that the provider cannot tell anyone else that I have trained her.

Because possessing a firearm in conjunction with anything else construed to be a crime can, in many jurisdictions, turn what would otherwise be a simple misdemeanor into hard time; though I am a second amendment supporter, I don't advocate that providers carry firearms -- though, of course, if they choose to do so, that is their choice.

Instead, I prefer that providers be trained in combat methods that are distinctly different from traditional martial arts and require less training time for proficiency.

About 9 years ago, met a Gent who is retired from "blank". After our session, he wanted to know how and what I would do IF a situation happened.

Together we went through my incall for safety routes, discussed that IF someone arrives with the intent to do harm, believe they will and that I would have 2 seconds to have the opportunity to get away. He showed me a couple things I could do to "STUN and ESCAPE". This is very different from anything you'll learn in a self defense course and/or martial arts and I have studied martial arts for years.

I firmly believe that self defense is the best. Especially, if your in some position that he's starting to hurt you and he won't stop. Your not always going to be close to a weapon and self defense may be your only option to end the session.

Not really. It is not smart for one to post what they do to protect themselves on a public board. There's no point in doing that.

Yes, self defense, during a session, maybe so, but if his intent is to harm, he will no doubt be more prepared and ready then she is to react. And she won't neccessarily have a weapon easily at hand to use other than herself.

Best defense is her gut reaction to the client, if after inviting him in the door, she's not comfortable, be at the ready before asking him to leave.

I know there are many appointments refused because of questionable clients, and even though I'm curious how many providers have had physical confrontations, I don't want to see any replies from anyone for privacy reasons.

We all, providers and clients have to be on our A game when seeing a new person!
