this was a facetious claim by the obama administration.



this was cover to go after the gun dealers who did business with banks by way of executive order.


it wasn't about the ammo or guns, it was both.
And what impact did it have? Were you unable to buy a gun or purchase ammunition for it after the enactment? If the overall intent was to ban guns it did not do a very good job.

you're missing the point. it wasn't about the customer buying dealer's products. that's not the issue here.

the issue was with the dealer not being able to transact business with the banks. when banks refused to do business with you, it presents a host of problems. for one thiing, they can't deposit their revenues. they also can't pay their bills. the last part is important. if they can't pay their creditors, this leads to default bankruptcy.

Yes, I understand what the Operation Check Point was intended to do. I don't think it had much of an impact in the real world. The point was being made that it would keep people from purchasing guns, in affect banning guns. I just think that that argument was invalid.
