The Affordable Health Care Act.
It limits what health insurance you can have and forces you to get something whether you want it or not.
That's my opinion and I already know you disagree so let's move on to the new Democratic Socialist Party. Do you see the Democratic party moving towards socialism? Do you see the Democratic Blue Dogs being pushed out of their own party to make way for more progressives?

Really, at this point, I think their party will be torn up and Trump is going to sweep in and take the White House again in 2020. I just feel it.

The only reason he even includes this tortured disclaimer is to clear the ground so that he can land his rhetorical punch on Obama, and label him a “socialist”."

Also. there is nothing specific in Gregory's article that points to actions Obama took as POTUS that would lead one to believe Obama is a socialist. There is a great deal of speculation as to why he believes Obama tends towards socialism but he cites no actual legislation by Obama that was socialistic.

So I ask again -- what specific legislation was passed during Obama's 8 years in office that would be termed "socialism"?

Precious dear,
As usual, I have no idea what you are talking about. Is this about the wall again? Because I've said Mexico is not going to pay for it. So Trump said they would - well, they are not. So we just have to power thru that and move on.

PS - Who the heck is Huckabee?

The last administration sure as hell didn't duck the press. They at least kept the Press Corp office in the White House. And even if you label Obama a Socialist, he didn't back off from any questions directly put to him. Hell, he even allowed hecklers to speak. Not encourage the crowds to deliver physical violence on them.

People should know that Ellen won't admit the faux pas of the current administration. She is in lock step to distract by trying to yell louder about something else than be forced to admit any errors in her judgement.

Seriously!?
You don't know who Huckabee is?

I thought when I said "...and won't specifically address specific questions put to her." would illuminate who I was talking about.

You must think she is your sweeties gf and think ignoring her will make her go away.

"We" don't have to power through this lie about the Wall. *YOU* have powered through accepting his lie(s).

As for the health care as Socialism. Those in the top tier of government definitely accept the perks of medical care that the voting public are paying for. Else they would pay for it themselves or go through their own private insurers. Until they stop accepting the government health care of Walter Reed, the Naval Hospital and such, regardless that it is a perk, you have to accept our members of Congress and such accept Socialism benefits. (My wording isn't great now but there is a problem when the little people have to jump through hoops to accept such terrible health care and the those at the top get theirs on the little guys back.)

If you think this is delusional crap, you ought to try and read through some of the density on the National Political Forum.

One Trump talking point after another.

And yes, Ellen is there shaking her Trump pom poms every day.

And yes, she's consistently delusional.

Fact is, there has been ZERO done in the month since Trump declared his national emergency. Not a single brick laid. The only thing we've discovered during this emergency is more families separated by Trump's inhumane policies still trying to find their children.

I'm delusional Yssup? You're the one who said Trump would never be President of the United States. (Didn't you take a little vaca because you were WRONG after the election?)

Dayum,Yssup, I'm worried about you. When Trump wins in a landslide in 2020 what are you going to do darling?
I have some ideas but due to forum rules I cannot divulge them.

Perhaps, just perhaps, you Ellen, might be wrong with your prediction of a Trump victory and/or landslide.

So... what if Trump loses? After all of your (some would say over)confidence. What are you going to do... darling?

The ACA is not socialistic based on the definition of socialized medicine.

Socialized Medicine

The concept of completely socialized medicine means that the government provides all aspects of healthcare:

It pays for all care.
It employs the providers.
It runs the facilities.

In many countries across the world – including Canada,Great Britain, Finland, and Spain – socialized medicine is the main form of healthcare access for many of its citizens.

True opinions are not "wrong" per se. However, if you insist on stating the ACA (Obamacare) is socialized medicine, you are wrong.

Moving on, I see a handful of Democrats in power moving to the left. A handful with not enough power to move the party in that direction. Trump is already starting to use his fear tactics in his 2020 campaign. It worked to some degree in 2016 but enough voters see through his venom that it won't impact the 2020 election. And of course you see Trump winning in 2020. You also saw Republicans holding the House in 2018. As I keep, saying, it all will come down to whether or not Trump can hold onto Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Results from the 2018 midterms and recent polling would say "NO". Here's one article that disagrees with you.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/24/o...-election.html

And here is a uTube video predicting the outcome of a Trump - Biden 2020 match up. I'll save you the time. Biden KILLS Trump.

With any luck - he'll pick Beto as his V.P. choice.
Did you read the comments on that uTube video?

I watched the whole video but I'm unsure to which comments you are referring. It is one person's opinion on how a Trump - Biden 2020 election would turn out. I don't put much faith in it at this time but it points out what I believe will be true in 2020 -- Democrats will win the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania which will turn the election to the Democratic candidate.

Obama was POTUS for 8 years. Did he raise taxes? Rather than wait for your response. . .

"But claims that Obama dramatically raised taxes — as was frequently charged by his opponents — were exaggerations designed to rile up the Republican base. While Obama did raise some taxes, mostly to pay for Obamacare, there was no major tax overhaul of the kind Trump and Republicans hope to accomplish. In fact, in 2013 Obama signed a compromise bill making permanent the tax cuts enacted by his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush.

As of 2013, the Tax Policy Center found that, under Obama, the top 1% of earners paid an effective federal tax rate of roughly 32%, compared to about 27% under Bush. But middle earners paid roughly 12%, almost exactly the same as under the previous president, while low earners paid a bit less — about 2.3%, rather than 3.5%."

Another myth dispelled.

He was a complete failure,

It is easy to just call the other side "idiots". Much harder to actually use facts to back up statements such as those above.

"Did nothing about the economy"...Anyone cognizant person gets a good chuckle out of this line. It just furthers the stereotype of ignorance that common Republicans can't seem to shed and do little to disprove.

https://www.factcheck.org/2017/09/obamas-final-numbers/

"The numbers are nearly all in now. What they show about what really happened during the eight years that Barack Obama was president is sometimes different from what politicians claimed.

—The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm.
—Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation. The gain was 3.7 percent for just production and nonsupervisory employees.
—After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.
—The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million. Premiums rose, but more slowly than before.
—The federal debt owed to the public rose 128 percent. Deficits were rising as Obama departed.
—Home prices rose 20 percent. But the home ownership rate hit the lowest point in half a century.'

"But now we have a reasonably complete statistical picture of the Obama years, which began in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and ended with the highest level of household income ever recorded."
