Nuclear option. If it was good enough for Harry it's good enough for Mitch.

I'm tired of hearing all of their bellyaching to tell you the truth. I've decided to just ignore it. He won. You lost. Get over it.

'Nuff sed.

There is also the budget reconciliation process that Harry Reid employed to get the final ACA reconciliation bill passed by the Congress. At that point the Democrats had lost their 60 vote margin in the Senate, when Kennedy died and Scott Brown was elected to replace him. So yes there are options to get around the filibuster should Trump and McConnell decide to employ them.

I don't like the filibuster.

all it does is prevent legislation from being debated and passing it.

what it also does is ties up the business of the senate.

130 years ago, the House had the filibuster as a parliamentary rule; they got rid of it because it was tying up the business of the House.

I really do not expect Trump to do any of what he said he would.
I am happy enough that it is not Hillary.

In reality, if he can do some of the stuff it will be an achievement.

Everybody knows he is a Democrat.
What he is not is Hillary.

I am all for anything that will keep Congress from doing much of anything.
Most of what they do costs more money that we do not have and creates more government and restricts our personal liberty.

If they do anything productive, it would be to enact a sunset provision to all legislation so that it has to be approved by the current representatives of the people and the states. Too many laws exist that we have had no representation. This would occupy much of their time, get rid of bad legislation, and help to prevent legislation that is not really needed. Only thing that lives on is the Constitution.

To really make it work, all bills must be read in their entirety prior to being renewed.
If this does not help shut down this mess, nothing will.

Appoint originalists to the Court, and keep us out of war. The rest is negotiable.

On the subject of illegal immigration, yes Trump did talk about massive deportations early in his campaign. But his position evolved some throughout the campaign. He consistently said let's secure the border and deport the criminal illegal aliens first, then we will figure out what to do with the rest of them, during the last few months of the campaign.

On the subject of prosecuting Hillary, at the appropriate time his attorney general can look at the evidence and then decide whether a special prosecutor needs to be appointed. I personally hope they do go after her. It's time that bitch paid the piper.

Let's give our new President a chance. He has not even taken the oath of office yet. Most Americans were willing to give Obama a chance when he was elected in 2008. Trump will not have a filibuster proof margin in the Senate, so he will have to work with the Democrats which will mean some compromises will have to be made.

So, to all the nitpickers out there, I say the election is over, your candidate lost, and you need to get over it and move on.
I agree with you 100% on your last 2 paragraphs. There will always be nit picking as there has been vs. Obama since I've been on this forum. Trump is different. Sometimes being different is good and sometimes it is bad. All I have said is that he has laid out a very bold agenda for his first 100 days in office and for his first term in office. And when he is up for reelection everyone should look at his promises and his accomplishments and determine whether or not he deserves a second term.

Just more "gotcha" politics masquerading as journalism.

I never thought it was going to be "all wall". I expected some combination of wall, fence and mine field.
