I don't take nor give references via phone because I cannot verify who she is. Could be a nosey SO. PM only.
And it's not my responsibility to give a reference. It's a choice. If a provider is rude or relays info (if I give a not so good reference) back to the guy. Fuck it. She can go elsewhere. If she is lazy and simply sends me a pm with a handle and asks nothing else..I ignore it. I'm not a mind reader. Yep I may need a reference one day...but I don't care to ask people like that for one. I'll simply do other routes of screening.
Also. Many providers are parents. Or have other jobs. We don't sit all day waiting on phone to ring. So no, I'll get to a reference check when I have time. Not because it's demanded upon me. Although I am usually pretty quick. If I go on a vacation with my family .. Hookerville doesn't go with me. So reference checks can wait til my return
