I've been making money on the stock market for the last thirty years and I take the credit myself and would take the blame but I can't remember my last down year - even 2018 I made money, though I had made a lot more prior to the last quarter, but still up for the year about 15%.
Politicians do sometimes deserves the blame and/or the credit but it depends on many factors.
