Default Is Bruce Springsteen a Racist?

I'm surprised the song "Born in the USA" isn't considered a racist song because what exactly is he saying in the song?

If you weren't born in the USA then you are a nothingburger?

That sounds racist and anti immigrant.

Would you tour Southern California and sing that song?

If you get a chance go see him in concert, I've seen him twice in Vegas the last couple of years.

His vocals still rock, unlike a lot of older entertainers.

Saw Petty twice on his last tour and Mellencamp last year.

Showing my age!

Never got a chance to see him. Saw a concert he did recently on cable. He’s also a great guitarist. Saw Springsteen at the Stone Pony in 1976 before he was on the cover of Time. They were great back then. Over time I lost it with Bruce. Don’t care for him much now.

He has his son play guitar with him both time I saw him recently. . .the record company really fucked him over.

I saw Bruce in Vegas 17 years ago...I thought it was a really good show even though I'm not a huge fan.

He had a riff with his brother when they were CCR. Why they broke up. The record company was screwing him too. One of my favorites:

Born In The U.S.A.

Bruce Springsteen

Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
End up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the U.S.A., I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A., born in the U.S.A.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the U.S.A., I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A., born in the U.S.A.
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said "son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said "son, don't you understand"
I had a brother at Khe Sahn
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go
Born in the U.S.A., I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A., I'm a long gone daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A., born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A., I'm a cool rocking daddy in the U.S.A.

He sings of my generation, and i lost friends in Nam.

Completely stupid war - accomplished nothing. Nixon got us out of the cess-pit.
Racist? - make your own determinations.

Springsteen is a Democratic party member liberal
Until Nia-Malika Henderson and her "white privilege" convictions get through with him

DPST racial balkanization politics.
