Default Drop down ads

Is there a way to keep the drop down menu/ads closed? I'm talking about the ones from eros or the "top posters" ect. I close them all and as soon as I click on a city or forum and then back up they are all open again.

Budman you will need to close them all first (click the deal that closes each down). Now before clicking on any links or forums, reload your browser (hit the refresh button or hit F5 on your keyboard). Once your browser reloads they will stay shut until you clear your browsing history.

JB,
Closing all drop downs and refreshing the browser no longer works. Any ideas?

I tried that what was suggested by Johnny and I didn't work, I closed the drop the boxes;refreshed my browser then cleared my history.

I have no interest to keep them closed, I just wanted to test that theory

I've tried several different sequences and none work. The drop downs all open up as soon as you refresh or change cities or forums.

More than likely this is done on purpose by the owners.
It is advertising which is revenue to the owners.
Tough to sell ad space when the ad can be turned off/closed/hidden.
I am surprised the option even exists to close the ad.

Look at it this way- ads/page clutter are a small thing to tolerate when it comes to this thing of ours.
I do not even see ads on webpages any more. I am on a page for its content.

Hint- try increasing the size of the browser page until it blocks out the ads.

This is working again. I just figured I would try it again and see if anything has changed. I thought others might want to know.

Make that they will all stay closed except Adult Social Network. It will not stay closed.

This is my situation, as well. Have always been able to keep these closed every time I enter the website, except this Adult Social Network site.

While I appreciate the fact that ECCIE makes money from its ads, discretion has always been an important part of the website, and its nice to hide all of the ads/photos from as many wandering eyes as possible. Please do whatever is necessary to have this latest ad stay closed.

Thanks!

I have made the same complaing in the Dallas forum. Here is my post:

The advertisement for Adult Social Network on the right hand side of the page is behaving bizarrely on my computer and on my iPad. It is open all the time on both. It is not annoying on the computer as I use FireFox and all ads are blocked. However, on the iPad, it is most annoying. All the other silly ads stay closed. However, you have to close this one every single time you refresh a page or open a new page.

Is anyone else having this same problem?

Does anyone have a solution?

It is cramping my reading the board in bed with the new GF. Most annoying.

Can we do something to get this fixed??!!!
