Why is that? These three guys knew that their votes were irrelevant so they played to their right wing base and made symbolic opposition. It's the senatorial equivalent to thumbing their noses at the president, and just as puerile.

The duly elected president has the right to choose his cabinet, which will reflect his policies, and those politicians with any maturity understands this and picks his policy battles for when they mean something. Of course, these guys don't have any political clout because they never will be votes that count on any really important issue, because they will always be against the president's policies.

So, why is Cruz looking better instead of predictable?

The Senate has the obligation of "advise and consent" on cabinet nominations. I'm proud whenever any Senator or Representative votes against the party leadership in order to stand for what's right.

I'm not a Cruz supporter, yet. But he has entered the Senate on a mission, it seems, and it isn't to get along. I like that.

This is some funny shit right here:

"As John Kerry prepares to take his place Friday in the long line of leaders -- including Thomas Jefferson, Henry Kissinger and Hillary Clinton -- who have served as secretary of state, he and President Barack Obama will face some familiar overseas challenges from the past four years:"

Putting Hillary and John-John Heinz in the same sentence ...

..... with Jefferson and Kissinger.
