Biden is saying you can keep your Group Health Insurance from your employer if you have it. Bernie Sanders wants to get rid of Group health insurance from the employer and just have a single payer system from the government. From your link:

Joe Biden, at an AARP event in Des Moines, describing his health care proposal: ‘If you like your health care plan, your employer-based plan, you can keep it. If you like your private insurance, you can keep it,

This is totally different with the cancellation letters the health insurance companies mailed out if the old policy did not have the 10 minimum benefits when the ACA was first rolled out. Obama put in the Grand Father rules and half of the 5 million old policies were restored (the insured could keep his/her old policy).

BB1961, you misread your own link.

Maybe this link will help you understand Bitten's continuation of Obummer's failed unACA...JOKE'S ON YOU!!
P.S. Gumment doesn't belong in healthcare PERIOD!!

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/...e-plan-1415850

From the politico article:

“Building on the ACA is the quickest way to get more people insured and improve affordability, while not taking on any powerful health industry group or disrupting coverage for those who already have it,” said Larry Levitt, executive vice president of health policy for the Kaiser Family Foundation. But incremental improvements to the ACA would leave “an inefficient and costly health care system in place,” Levitt added, preserving high prices and high deductibles for the roughly 160 million Americans with employer-based health coverage.

But even Democrats' incrementalist approaches face deep opposition from a well-funded health industry opposed to expanding government-backed health insurance.

"Vice President Biden’s proposal for a new government insurance system through a 'public option' would undermine the progress our nation has made and ultimately lead our nation down the path of a one-size-fits-all health care system run by Washington," said Lauren Crawford Shaver, executive director of the Partnership for America’s Health Care Future, in a statement released Monday morning. Shaver— whose group includes dozens of major associations, including hospital lobbyists— pointed to studies that hospitals would lose revenue if Medicare was expanded.

The joke is on YOU. With Biden 260 plus million people will continue to get their health insurance from their EMPLOYER. The ACA is only for 20 million people, (10 million get a plan at HealthCare.Gov and 10 million get the expanded Medicaid).

If you don't have a problem when the government helps seniors pay for their prescriptions (Medicare Part D) signed into law by Bush43, then you shouldn't have problem when the government helps middle class people get health insurance in the individual market.

It's Bernie Sanders and the "far left" that want to get rid of Group health insurance from the employer and replace it with a Single Payer system for everyone. Try to get your FACTS straight.

Reading comprehension is no joke...

The above is simply pure speculation. With Biden's proposal Group health insurance from the employer stays. If you're an employee of AT&T or IBM you will continue get your health insurance from them.

The public option that he wants to add to the ACA is only for people in the individual market. What makes up the individual market? People who are self employed, people who have retired before age 65 and want health insurance or people who work for an employer that does not offer their employees health insurance. This is about 20 - 30 million people across the nation.

If your employer offers you health insurance you Cannot go over to HealthCare.gov and shop for an "Obamacare policy". The ACA is only for people who don't get health insurance where they work.

The one thing you don't seem to get is that with Biden's plan Group Health Insurance from the employer DOES NOT go away.

Biden's plan is not a single payer system. Bernie Sanders plan of medicare for all is and Group Health Insurance from the employer would go away.

Conveniently you didn't use the entire quote...what is that lack of comprehension by omission??

I guess that is the part you stuck your head in the sand about...understandably!!

The unconstitutional unACA hopefully will soon be a sad financially painful memory.
And rightfully so.
Everything in your post is more Gumment control and higher costs across the board for the vast MAJORITY of the paying Americans.
The one thing YOU don't seem to get is the Gumment fucks up everything.
The Gumment doesn't fucking belong in healthcare!!

The cost of health insurance was going up and up and up before the ACA was even implemented. With the ACA 20 million citizens got health insurance who did not have it the year before. To get a health insurance policy at HealthCare.Gov you have to have a
job. The policy is not free.

With Bidens plan Group Health Insurance does NOT go away. Group health insurance from the employer is where most Americans will continue to get their health insurance. You make the implication that with Biden Group Health Insurance goes away. That is not True. You have Biden mixed up with Bernie Sanders.

When you turn age 65 you will be on a single payer system that is run by the Gumment, it's called Medicare. Why is that? No health insurance company wants to sell a policy to someone who 65 is years old, even if that 65 year old is in perfect health and has never been sick. The underwriting department for the health insurance company measures probability and risk. When you are 65 years old there is too much risk.

You keep parroting the same shit over and over...the post clearly stated that health insurance rate are going to continue to skyrocket...I and many many people I know pay anywhere 50% to more than 60% more then before the unACA. I don't know what universe you live in...stop trying to defend this socialistic nonsense. The vast majority pay more so that the minority can get hugely subsidized insurance...what a socialistic utopian idea.

Your link has a perfect example of why the ACA was implemented. From your link:

Before the Obamacare exchanges opened in 2014, Solesky had an individual insurance plan that cost her $215 a month to cover herself and her two sons. The deductible was $5,000. But the carrier wouldn't cover her husband because he had high blood pressure.

Before the ACA was passed health insurance companies would sell a policy to someone with pre-existing condition in the individual market. People with pre-existing conditions should be able to purchase health insurance.

This is why you have a Bernie Sanders calling for a single payer system for everyone. The health insurance companies business model is we want to collect as much premium as possible and not pay out any CLAIMS. So, in the old system people with pre-existing conditons were not sold policies in the individual market. At least with the ACA, people with pre-existing conditions can purchase health insurance and Group Health Insurance from the employer STAYS. It does not go away.

By the way, your link is from 2016. The penalty for the individual mandate is NOT enforced anymore.

We all need health insurance not just people who don't have any pre-existing conditons.
