Since you have separated POW from "war hero," I would like to know factually on what you base your conclusion that John McCain is a "war hero"!

And before you or anyone else get all stupid and try to re-direct the issue, I do not detract from his horrendous experiences of being shot down or enduring the offensive treatment he suffered during his captivity .... and FIY Bush Sr was "shot down" and I don't consider him to be a "war hero"!

But since you claim to be a proud military veteran I thought you might have some special perspective on the question since I am sure based on your vast military experience, as you have professed, you've met "your share" of "war heroes" so you will have some standards by which to make that judgment.
