Default site problems?

site problems?

From these threads:

tech problems
ECCIE site loading very slow?
Editing Issues
Internet Explorer 11 site problems

Looks like a number of people are having problems with accessing ECCIE.

My problems started Friday night. The error I received was "could not access site" or something to that affect. At that time, I just guessed that the site was down for maintenance.

Late Saturday morning, I was able to get on to the main ECCIE page but it took a long time to load. If I tried to access one of the sub-forums, I would get the same error message as above. If hit the retry button, at times it would load the page but is was REALLY SLOW.

I was using Firefox but on a hunch, I decided to try Opera and everything loaded just fine. I also tried Safari but it was also running slow, but not as bad as Firefox.

Firefox had been giving me some issues so I decided to reload Firefox from scratch. After the reinstallation (latest version, 27.0.1), everything worked so I thought the problem was fixed. However, a few hours later, same problems reappeared. Opera was still working fine and Safari was still slow.

I then decided to reload the previous version of Firefox (the installation file I had on my hard drive was version 26.0). Ever since going back to Firefox version 26.0 (I disabled auto update), everything has worked fine.

From the other posts, some people are having problems with IE, while others are having problems with Firefox. One person just switched to Firefox and from his post, everything is working for him (at least for the time being). Weird.

Anyone else have problems?

IE never works for me on eccie. Firefox always worked til their maintenance started Thursday, or whatever the issues were. Then firefox started being wonky. So I downloaded Google Chrome (hate it) but it works. So then someone suggested I clear my cookies and my temp files on firefox. I did and it works just fine now. Hope that helps.

Clearing your cache helps as well.

I had problems last Monday and Tuesday but think it was a FIOS issue not ECCIE.
I had problems logging this evening around 5pm CST. I'm finally back on a couple of hours later.

Never had a problem with IE11, until this weekend , its not about clearing cookies, or caches. this series of vbulletin has this issue when one of the banner or side ads has bad Java script, If I were a betting man.....I'd guess the ad that says "new chat request" and flashes like its ready to give you a virus is to blame. I know it's not an ISP problem. it's a dbuyescortraffic problem, of course I'm just a member and not someone that brings in revenue.....now if I can figure out why I can't access chat I'll be happy.

ps, for everyone who says to switch to firefox, chrome etc, why do we need to change browsers to access this site? when IE11 worked fine? I think chrome sucks, and Google tracks enough of my personal info, why would I use their browser? I guess I could buy one of those google netbooks and just send all my info to the NSA....

I've had issues since the weekend updating the showcase & signature, will not save. Tried Chrome, still didn't work. I hope if it's a banner ad causing the problems, they get with the owner & resolve the issue soon.

maybe this will help. I upgraded to ie 11. I logged into the site fine. then the site requested to use the Adobe Flash plugin. I okayed use of the plugin and the site went to crap again. back to very long delays between page loads. Or the pages timeout.

Default Site problems

Here's an odd thing; ECCIE will not fully load on my Dell computer and will not run, the top part is displayed but that's all but it works fine on my iPad.

I'm on for the first time since Friday.. after downloading Google Chrome.. hate it, too, but it works.

I PM'd the ADMIN the other day about the site issue, he said there was a DOS attack, they are running protective software.. and the site should slowly come back to normal.. I always used IE until now

I've had problems for several days. Seems much more prominent in iPad with Safari. On a PC with Firefox, things seem better.

The common thing? ECCIE. They are having problems. Not PCs, iPads, phones or browsers. Just different symptoms. Hopefully they'll get a handle on it soon. Seems better already.

I'm currently having issues with EVERY browser on my Windows 8 PC. It times out in Firefox, it loads slow in IE, and I can view the site fine, but can't post anything in Chrome.

But my Vista and 7 PC's are fine.

I use Opera (I must be the only one...lol) and it was having problems too. I just skip the site for the day til it (eccie) feels better a few hours later. I'm not going to unload, clear things, or reload things. I don't have the time and every other site works, so I just "deal" with it til it goes away. Kind of like the flu...let it run its course.
