was it about race when Obama and Clinton both mass deported these poor innocent people of color? without due process?
OMG! Obama and Clinton were authoritarian dictators! who knew?

Now, let me talk a little bit about increasing deportations. Our plan will triple the number of criminal and other deportable aliens deported since 1993. We want to focus on the criminal population or on those who are charged with crimes but who are here illegally. Every day, illegal aliens show up in court who are charged. Some are guilty, and surely, some are innocent. Some go to jail, and some don't. But they're all illegal aliens, and whether they're innocent or guilty of the crime they're charged with in court, they're still here illegally and they should be sent out of the country.

There are laws on how to handle illegals. Simply enforce the law. There is no need for masked thugs masquerading as Storm Troopers any more than the whole sanctuary city nonsense……or any of the publicized drama sent over social media….
Do your job……both sides. And stop making the American public (both sides) suffer while the fat cat politicians go on unfazed by the pain and grief they leave in their wake.

you are exactly right! the Democrats are holding US citizens hostage by defying federal law. that woman Good is dead because of the Democrats.
i'll task our valued posters to give one legit reason for local law enforcement not to work hand in hand with federal agents.
some might call this defiance of the law an .... INSURRECTION

Your implication that they do not cooperate with ICE would be...incorrect.
They have cooperated on many issues, despite the lies told by Noem and thugs.
But you won't care. I'm sure you will absolutely FLOOD us with link-after-link-after-link-after-link...after...ahh, who the fuck cares? No one will read them. And you will declare victory anyway.
Here's a better way to phrase the question: why are they RESISTING cooperating with ICE recently?
And the answers to that could consume all of us for hours.
My short answer to this is because ICE is too heavy-handed, moving too fast, acting indiscriminently, and.....most importantly...being used as political pawns to antagonize and incite reactions that will justify further escalation of force.
But I'm sure that MAGA will say that none of that is true, and that it is just because they are crazy-ass libs who DON'T support law and order and DO support criminal illegals.

Wow. That's quite the stretch. And a completely unjustified one, on every level.
I thought MAGA supported State rights? I suppose that is only when it is convenient.
Well....in case you weren't aware, there is a little thing called the anti-commandeering doctrine, which says that the Federal government cannot force states to enforce Federal law. It kinda comes from that Constitution-thingy...specifically the nonsense in that pesky 10th amendment....

commandeering has nothing to do with it. your reasons for not cooperating hold no water. it's the Demonrat "WE MUST RESIST" because it's Trump mantra. is that a doctrine you support?

Does Google AI get this right?
Quote:
Being in the U.S. without authorization isn't always a crime; unlawful presence (like overstaying a visa) is a civil violation, but illegal entry (crossing the border without inspection) is a misdemeanor for a first offense, while illegal reentry after deportation is a felony, with harsher penalties for repeat offenses or previous serious convictions.
Key Distinctions:
Unlawful Presence (Civil): Simply living in the U.S. without legal status (e.g., overstaying a visa, DACA expiration) is a civil offense, leading to deportation and bars from reentry, but not criminal charges.
Illegal Entry (Misdemeanor): The first time someone enters the U.S. outside of a port of entry (e.g., crossing between ports), it's a misdemeanor under 8 U.S.C. § 1325, punishable by fines or up to six months in prison.
Illegal Reentry (Felony): Re-entering the U.S. after being previously deported or removed is a felony (8 U.S.C. § 1326), carrying up to two years in prison, with increased penalties for prior felony or drug-related convictions.
State-Level Variations
While federal law governs immigration, some states have attempted to implement their own criminal penalties. For example, a Texas law (S.B. 4) that took effect in 2024 classifies illegal entry from a foreign nation as a Class B misdemeanor and repeat offenses as a state jail felony. However, these state-level laws often face ongoing legal challenges regarding federal vs. state authority.

Ha.
Yeah, THIS is the kind of response I should have predicted instead...
That you would have NOTHING germane as a comeback...just refusal and denial. With the usual nauseating, divisive mischaracterization thrown in.
I gave you very rational, realistic reasons why some States do not want to cooperate with ICE. Try coming back with reasonable counters to them if you do not agree with what I'm saying. Your "Nuh uh!!"....is just lame MAGA deflection.
As to the other part...you said above that some might characterize this refusal as an "INSURRECTION." And I explained exactly why they would be wrong in doing so. States are not in any way acting illegally or improperly when they refuse to cooperate with ICE. It is their RIGHT to not do so.
And it is VERY common.
Why...one has only to look at the plethora of States that allow certain "alternative herbal medicines" and "recreational substances" in contradiction to Federal law to see a great example of it.
And the anti-commandeering doctrine gives the justification for this.
10th amendment. Lookit up.....and the legal decisions discussing this very thing.
Your best option now is to post "if you say so"....
.

I think most rational people would prefer to see those who self deport happen. Maybe just offer a little more carat and less stick for a bit. How about 5k to deport and if you are caught here afterwards, you are going to do 10 yrs in jail and then be deported. It's really congresses fault for not finding any solutions outside of existing laws that are both ineffective- and in some cases- too long to enact. I do think that the bed ICE has made is of their own doing. They've been told to be as assertive and forceful as they deem necessary. "no compassion or parlay" in the words of prior dictators and authoritarians. It's the exact thing that American's despise and want for their residents. In fact the only cheshire grins are coming from REDHat Merica where the abuse and violence is what they like the most about it. Sadly- they seem to think that this is gonna get better---it won't. It's going to get worse.

There is no need for this fake “cooperation” nonsense, if ICE was doing its job, as opposed to trying to enforce local laws.
So your argument above does not hold water based on your own comment.
Again, you are Exactly right. Case closed. ICE is wrong.

ICE isn't doing the job of local police. They are rounding up illegals and in the process arresting assholes that interfere with their job. Local police should be taking care of this but if they won't and you interfere with n ICE operation they will lock your ass up.
It's nice to see the libs protecting and supporting murderers, rapist, child molesters, etc. You should be so fucking proud.

There are no statements here "supporting murderers, rapist, child molesters, etc."
MAGA should be the first group criticizing ICE's poorly executed actions. They make you look really fucking bad for supporting them.
The job ICE is doing in places like MN is not supported by a majority of the general public. Only MAGA.

ICE is going after illegals. Many of whom have been charged and / or convicted of said crimes. As Bill Clinton said some rounded up may be innocent but if their here illegally then they need to be deported,

Just a reminder...
Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino lied in court to U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis.
Of course she was nice about it...“I don’t find defendants’ version of events credible.”
His falsities contributed to Ellis issuing an extensive injunction restricting federal agents’ use of force.
Though I'll also say the feds did arrest and are trying one really bad guy who took an extreme disliking to Bovino.
A jury was selected Tuesday in the trial of a man accused of offering a $10,000 bounty for the life of a Border Patrol commander behind an immigration crackdown in Chicago last year.
Juan Espinoza Martinez, 37, faces one count of murder-for-hire. Federal prosecutors allege he’s a “ranking member” of the Latin Kings gang who offered a reward for Gregory Bovino’s killing.
