It's really not all that impressive a rescue. They were captive for ten years. I went by a friends' house last night while she wasn't home and BOTH her neighbors called her cell asking if she was okay, there's a strange car in the driveway. I despise that type of compulsive busy-body nosiness, yet over the course of a decade you might notice a rape camp next door, as it doesn't sound like the perp was all that careful.
To second the OP's assessment, the standards are pretty low these days. Shit if you just answer phone calls in a uniform you're a freedom-saving hero that should get free healthcare forever, discounts at most businesses and top priority in the job market. Standards are whacked.
