"double booking"
Hypothetical situation...say at 9:15 am hobbyist calls a provider (who has already been prescreened), and something is set up at 10 am the same day (within the hour) for a 30 minute session. When hobbyist is arriving in the area for appointment, he gets a text from provider that mentions the 10:30 appointment that is also scheduled. Hobbyist knew nothing of the 10:30 appointment at time of booking. Hobbyist then cancels because of the dilemma.
Was hobbyist right in cancelling upon receiving information? Thanks for your replies.

That's what I was wondering.
If you were first in line then you should have kept the appointment. It's the other guy right after you that should be upset, hehe. As a general "rule", and I use that term very loosely, scheduling so close together should be a no-no. However, every provider has her own set of "rules" that she sees fit to run things as she'd like. Who knows, maybe she really needed the money and that's the only times y'all wanted to schedule or she could just suck at scheduling. Anywho, that's my 2 cents. Hope you have better luck next time.

I agree, but I was thinking more along the lines of being guaranteed to meet the guy in the hallway as I'm leaving, and/or my 30 minutes would not have been fun, as I'm being kicked out at 10:20...Discretion is important, and a provider shouldn't knowingly put a hobbyist in that position. I see the sloppy seconds argument, and that would upset me for sure! Good point.
I also realize that common sense is a lost idea in the world these days.

I was thinking about that too, no one likes to run into the "other one" on their way out. Or to be rushed, I guess for you it was a good call then.
Sad but true on the common sense.

Terrible planning on her part.... But if it didn't interfere with your time... why cancel...?
I myself couldn't do an hour session at 10am... and then see another person immediately right after at 11am or 11:15am.... I always allow at least 2 hours in between if I take more than 1 appointment in a day.... allows me time to chill out and gather myself... take a shower... relax a bit...
anyhow... I really think that you could have kept your 10am... she should have to worry about the other guy... that isnt your problem... ijs...

Thanks for everyone's insight. I guess I was looking at the situation from a different perspective. I have offered a reschedule for an hour instead if my PM ever gets read.

Dakota took the words right off my keyboard!
NEVER...EVER to I have dates back to back! For several reasons. #1 It is GROSS. I have to shower between dates. #2 is exactly what you said....how awkward to walk passed each other in the hallway...
"What up man, you got her now. Have fun." I mean really?
With that being said I think you what you wanted to do and felt comfortable doing. You were not a NCNS you simply didn't feel comfortable. That is a big part of the hobby, feeling comfortable.

I hate poor planning on her part. I have been with two different providers that had an appointment immediately after. On one appointment The other hobbyist was already there waiting and when I walked out I happened to be parked right next to him. He slowly reclined his seat to disappear lol. At the other, the hobbyist showed up early and knocked on the door while I was still there. He was asked to walk upstairs, wait 5 minutes( so that I can leave) and come back down. It kind if sucks for the other guy but made me wonder about the Apointments before me. Yuck.
