Gave it a 3, not because it affects me personally, but it has prevented a family member from being able to start a teaching job. Seems the state cannot get fingerprint check back from the DOJ.

So then why aren't you pissed at O'Blunder?? He's changed it 17 times, unconstitutionally, by executive fiat. Not part of his job, either.

And by the way, it is perfectly within the purview of Congress to change, defund, repeal, or otherwise "fix" any law. All they need is enough votes to get it through.

The administration acted on its own to delay the employer mandate, explaining that the systems were not in place to implement it. The other two changes came through votes in Congress

Let us read it in context. So in context do you believe that the shutdown is not hurting some folks? If so you are ignorant of the facts.

You do understand EXTEXOILMAN that there are many things that you are ignorant of , just as I am . So for one to call someone ignorant without context is just ignorant. Why you might ask? Because the person you called ignorant is more versed than you in any number of things. In our case, clearly you are not versed in factual politics. You are very ignorant in the political process.

It has not effected me personally.

But your question is like me asking you a yes/no question to : gnadfly, have you stopped beating your wife?

Questions like yours are meant for political hacks, not to foster real debate. You are not a very smart man if you think this shutdown could do harm if it drug on for months. That is why you do not want discussion , it would bust your premise that the shutdown is not hurting anybody. Maybe we can get some 92 year old vets answer the question. Has it affected me or my family personally? Not in the least!

Initially, I was hesitant to even vote in this highly skewed poll. By responding with a "2" it might lead someone to believe that I am totally unconcerned about the government shutdown. That is not the case at all!

For the record, I have compassion for those who have been negatively affected. This shutdown should have never occurred.
