I prefer Lifestyles "Skyn" non-latex these days. I just about always carry my own , even into hobby dates.

I've been trying to remember; and I can only vaguely remember one breakage, non-hobby related in my younger days. I remember her being freaked and scared, but all was well. I've had a few begin to pull off, seems like it was in doggie every time. All in all, it's never been much of a problem for me

Yes, Rocky – you are correct. It is impossible to "eliminate" risk entirely. However...

I think that nearly everyone would agree that the risks involved with barebacking a SO, even one that occasionally strays, are drastically lower than a hobbyist or a provider that habitually barebacks in the hobby.

It's essentially the same behavior, but the frequency of having interactions with multiple different partners would obviously be greater in the hobby, making the risks involved exponentially greater.

Well I believe if there is a hobbiest or two (or a hundred who knows) who is out barebacking then should they not be named along with the ladies they have seen so those of us who like to remain safe can avoid all parties who have been involved with said activities?

That is the purpose of the Reviews here on Eccie. Additionally, that information can be discussed/documented in the "Private" area available to the Hobbyists. The Providers have a similar area available to them as well.

If you do not feel that the "Private" area available to you is secure enough, you still have the ability to PM your fellow members of a like mind and share that information.

The discussion contained in the quote above should be moved to a new thread or dropped in this one.

It is not germane to the subject of this thread - Broken Condoms

Actually it was since someone else brought it up (the barebacking by hobbiests). Don't see you berating her publicly for changing the subject.. Makes one go humm now doesn't it?

Actually, my point was directly related to "when & if a condom breaks in the hobby," you'd better make sure you're seeing someone who consistently practices safe sex within the hobby.

This thread is about condoms breaking on hobby dates. And I would think it's safe to say that discussion of possible risks that ensue when they do break is related and acceptable.

You, Blad (& MaryBeth) are the ones that started the bareback 'with SO's/in serious relationships' argument, not on topic -- because honestly -- how many people even use condoms with their SO??

And then you even took it a step further, talking about outing those that do bareback in the hobby. Which, in essence, I agree with -- but like Biomed said, that belongs in a different thread entirely.

That would be due to you stating one should always use a trusted pro who uses them yet if they have kids that would either be her lying about always using a condom or the immaculate conception. Just one of those pesky facts you seem to skirt around...

And even you said it not using them is opening it up to god knows what. Even with the SO. Who knows if he/she/it is running around? And using condoms if they are? Which directly relates to the above stated on condoms usage (or non usage) and breakage.
